The Haven Cottage Point Sydney

The house is absolutely charming, and it has such a fascinating history - I won’t spoil it for you! The view is absolutely stunning. It truly is such a privilege to wake up and see it. The house itself was so clean, tidy and cosy. I didn't want to leave at all! We went kayaking in the morning, and the owners didn't mind us staying past check-out time on that day, which was very kind. Bathrooms are clean and so charming. The bed was comfortable, and I fell right off to sleep - which is unusual for me. The quiet of the night beats the noise of Sydney city life. Speaking of the owners, you will not find better! They were so polite, kind and extremely informative. They take so much pride in their house, and they make it feel like your second home. They had food prepared for us and a fridge full of water. The key handoff was simple, and the lift to the house was so fun!!

I wish we had booked for longer :( It it such a wonderful place and I really wanted to stay longer and am annoyed at myself for bot booking a longer time!! Make sure to book at least 2 nights to properly enjoy!

Gorgeous cottage on the water. Everything was perfect.

The images of this property do not do it justice! It is more beautiful in real lfe! Even though it was cold, and initially a little wet over the weekend we stayed here, the four of us had the most fabulous time at this wonderful property. The hosts have thought of everything a guest could need and more! Lots of gorgeous little touches and provisions. The beds are super comfortable as is the property generally. It feels very much like a family home and has been designed with comfort in mind. The hosts Philip and Aredy were friendly and warm. Philip is a retired builder and carpenter and you could see the love and hard work that he has put into creating such a wonderful haven for others to enjoy, for a haven it is indeed! Even though the hosts live in another property on the bigger property, the haven is a separate dwelling and feels very private. We felt incredibly relaxed after the stay and wished we had booked the property for a week! It was so incredibly soothing, relaxing and calming sitting on the deck overlooking the water. Reading and watching the world and boats drift by, as well as appreciating the prolific bird life and national park, which felt so ancient and vital. We loved watching the cockatoos swooping and diving with their raucus shrieks! We also enjoyed sitting around the property's outdoor fire pit by the water and having a bath in the glorious deep copper bath in the main bedroom upstairs that enjoys its own little balcony! The Haven was the prefect place to de-stress and unwind and its located, unbelievably, only an hour from the buzz of the centre of Sydney! The Kiosk nearby was the perfect place to enjoy brunch. We didn't get a chance to try the nearby restaurant as we cooked for ourselves, but next time for sure! We will definitely be back!! It is hard to find fault with this wonderful place. Perhaps the only thing, and this is only a very small thing, is the noise of the inclinators as they go up and down the steep slope in the area (every property has one in the Cottage Point area). Luckily they aren't used often throughout the day, maybe 2-3 times! They are great fun to use though! Thrilling! Brace yourselves if you are scared of heights! Don't be a baby!

Superb house, with very lovely hosts. Absolute dream location. Spacious house, very clean and great orientation to the house by the host. The lift down to the house does take some getting used to, but it adds to the whole experience!! Still would recommend 10/10.
