The location really was the highlight of this property. I have been a property manager for ten years and have high expectations. The manager allowed me to check in early and met me at the property because there was an issue with my messages/cell phone. She was very helpful! We used the kitchen twice a day, purchasing groceries from the HUGE market downtown, making a hearty breakfast and late dinner each night before winding down. The kitchen had absolutely everything we could need to prepare a full meal, and nice plates, utensils, cups, cutting board, and a sharp knife to cut veggies and meats. There was a coffee machine for pods for our use. Overall, a great place to serve as basecamp for a Porto stay. Particularly if you wish to be in the center of activity. I would highly recommend for proximity of bars/late food/drinks. All three nights there was activity and music one block away. Lots of fun party-goers and that did move through our street until the very early morning. This may not be a great choice for families with young children/babies who rely on quiet/sleep hours. Another neighborhood might be a better fit. That said, we were steps from coffee, bakeries, and within a mile of all the churches, the waterfront, shopping, and the underground train. Great food is easy to find, as are tiny coffee specialty cafes with secret gardens, fantastic local coffee, sweets, and of course, fresh, artisan breads. Be sure that you are able to climb stairs, and also see Porto by foot from this property. I think my daughter and I walked five miles each day in Porto. Being at this property put us in the center of everything, where we could see all that we wished to see and more! We had the balcony room, and having fresh air the entire stay was a huge bonus! It was heavenly!

The noise and fun outside made it a challenge to rest each night, but we wanted to be in the center of the city and that is part of the experience.
