    I can overlook outdated wallpaper, cabinets that are falling apart, and a door that scrapes the floor so badly you have to force it shut. I can even accept a budget hotel with some wear and tear. What I cannot accept is filth. From the moment I walked into the room, there was a strong odor of old urine mixed with cleaning chemicals, as if someone had tried to mask the smell rather than address it. The sheets had hair and ants on them, and I genuinely questioned whether they had been changed between guests. The floor was sticky and grimy. Ants were everywhere—thousands of them. They crawled across the floor near the desk, up the wooden chairs I was trying to sit in during a work meeting, and throughout the room nonstop. The smell was so strong it burned my nose. And that was just the room. The lobby smelled like a college dorm room that hadn’t been cleaned in months. I don’t mind a hostel atmosphere or a place that’s a little rough around the edges. What bothered me was the overwhelming lack of cleanliness. The filth seemed to seep into everything. The furniture felt dirty and neglected, as though it had gone years without being properly cleaned or disinfected. For a moment, I honestly wondered whether the place was even operating legitimately because I could not understand how it could be maintained at such a low standard. The problem is not that the property is inexpensive. I knew I was booking a budget stay and was prepared for “you get what you pay for” conditions. What I received was far below even the most basic expectations. I wasn’t looking for luxury. I didn’t need a large room, fancy amenities, or high-end linens. All I wanted was a clean bed and a reasonably fresh room. Instead, it felt like I was sleeping in a garbage bin. This property is severely neglected, and whoever owns it does not appear to invest in even the most basic standards of maintenance or cleanliness. It was one of the worst places I have ever experienced.

    The location is in the center of Phnom Penh. There are places to eat nearby. And it's close to the market, so it's easy to shop.

    Everything had been good then they asked me to check out two days early - they are closing the hotel! Men are removing the furniture now.
