After skiing, free shuttles can take you to Smuggs multiple restaurants, bars, scoop shop, and shopping. There are a full range of restaurants ranging the Green Mountain Eatery in the Village Center which offers sub or salads and fries, to the Hearth and Candle, which supports a gourmet-style dining experience with a full-service bar and an extensive wine list. Also in the Village are the Village Pizzeria, Morse Mountain Grille (breakfast, lunch, dinner cocktails and Vermont brews) and the Ben and Jerry's scoop shop.
There is also great breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks in the Base Lodge Cafeteria and Black Bear Tavern, with plenty of seating and a spacious bar, both within a short walk to the Madonna and Sterling Lifts.
There is entertainment every night at Bootleggers Pub which is next to the Pizzeria so you can grab something to munch on while enjoying a Vermont brew. For a quieter experience, visit the bar at the Hearth and Candle after 9 and chat with Scot and Akash about everything from the skiing to local fisher cats.
The North Hill Community features spectacular views of Madonna and Sterling Mountains, and historic Smugglers’ Notch Pass. This location combines the serenity of a woodland hillside setting with several multi-story vacation home buildings nestled in the landscape & features the exclusive use of North Hill Central, an aquatics and exercise facility with an indoor heated pool , & hot tub. Free on demand shuttle to the Morse Mtn lift, village center and Lot 6 Brewing.
Smugglers Notch is the perfect launching point for visiting the revered Vermont breweries. Lot 6 Brewing is right outside the resort entrance and Red Leaf (gluten free) is ten minutes down the road in Jeffersonville. Ten Bends Beer, Lost Nation Brewing, Rock Art (which has been making fine brews since before the IPA revolution and Soulmate Brewing are 30 to 35 minutes away. If you're more ambitious within an hour you can be visit Foam, Burlington Beer Company, Zero Gravity, Four Quarters, and Fiddlehead Brewing and Prohibition Pig Brewery (Waterbury). If you get to "Pro Pig", you have to try the wings!! Finally, an hour and 15 minutes ride will get you to the legendary Hill Farmstead, widely considered one of the best, if not the best, brewery in the world, consistently earning top spots from RateBeer and other critics for its artisanal, innovative, and technically precise beers, especially its farmhouse ales and IPAs, though "best" is subjective and depends on personal taste.
I have been coming to Smugglers Notch since 1997. It's my home away from home and in the center has a walkable village with a green similar to many quaint New England towns.
