Laughing Duck consists of an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area, and sitting area, a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room, a twin with full-size singles, and a twin with 2’6” singles, serviced by a family bathroom. Outside, there is a private decked area with furniture and hot tub, and off-road parking for 2 cars. Two well-behaved dogs welcome, but sorry, no smoking. You'll find a shop and pub within 2 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Laughing Duck Lodge is a delightful base for a Lake District escape. Note: Hot tub use is restricted to 10am–10pm. Note: WiFi is limited and not suitable for business use. Note: Onsite facilities require a complex pass purchased from reception.

Town: The small village of Troutbeck Bridge lies between the famous towns of Windermere and Ambleside, close to the renowned Kirkstone Pass, within the Lake District National Park. Made up of a scattering of Lakeland cottages, this quiet village offers a thriving and very popular local pub, serving real ales and fine food. Why not leave the car at home, with great connections, you can catch the bus here which regularly runs from the train station all the way up to Keswick via Ambleside, Rydal and Grasmere. Explore Brockhole Visitor Centre with tree-top adventures and childrens play park which is close by - boats to Ambleside and Bowness call in here along with some Lake Cruises in season. There are also some charming walks and bridleways to explore directly from here up into the beautiful Troutbeck Valley and across to Wansfell, as well as the gardens at Holehird, which are run entirely by volunteers and are an enchanting and inspiring place to explore. The bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are close by, providing a range of amenities including shops, pubs and cafes. Lake Windermere boasts a range of lakeside activities, including trips to the famous Aquarium and the renowned Grizedale Forest Park, whilst children will enjoy the World of Beatrix Potter in nearby Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. With destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains all within easy reach, Troutbeck Bridge is an ideal location for exploring all that the region has to offer.
