About this house rental
Our Little Hilo Hideaway is the cozy downstairs unit of our duplex. Walk through the lanai to your private entrance and step into your home away from home. There are 3 spacious bedrooms and a lanai with outdoor lighting that connects the living room area to the outside. There is a large table & bench and breakfast bar for the whole family to enjoy - or dine outside!
Our Little Hilo Hideaway rental includes:
- On-site parking
- Private keyless entry
- Wireless Internet
- Ultra High Definition TV to stream Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and more!
- Kitchen includes: fridge, microwave, toaster, oven, coffee maker, kettle, dishes and silverware
- Towels and linens are provided for all guests
- On-site laundry
- High-powered fans in each bedroom, coupled with the Hawaiian breeze
The house is centrally located for families and couples. Just down the street, less than a 5 mins drive away, you will find,
- Target & Walmart
- Prince Kuhio Plaza, if you're looking for a mall to shop for gifts
- KTA Super Store, for all of your grocery needs
- University of Hawaii at Hilo, if you're visiting a student
There are also plenty of restaurants in the area and we are happy to provide recommendations. The rest of Hilo is only a 10 mins drive away to places like Hilo Bayfront, Honolii, Rainbow Falls and many more.

We also feel the need to mention that we love Hilo for its authentic old-Hawaii vibe and Aloha Spirit but if you are looking for white sand beaches and up-scale sophisticated neighborhoods, this is probably not the right place for you to stay. These plantation era homes were built in the 1960’s and while ours has been lovingly maintained and updated, there are still parts that are original. Some houses and areas in Hilo are in need of a little TLC, including a few houses in our neighborhood. If this is something that will impact how you experience Hawaii, then it may be wise to consider staying at a resort. Nonetheless, if you are looking for an adventure and authentic Hawaiian experiences, we have that in abundance and welcome you to stay with us.

Previous guests have given good rated it, and VRBO labeled it a top-rated House because of the excellent services rendered by the owner or manager of this House, and has consistently provided great experiences for their guests. Most families or guests that use it recommend it to their friends and some of them are repeat guests.

Host interaction and the amenities are sufficient. However, there were some issues...this home is a duplex, so youre at the mercy of the upstairs renters (loud stomping all day) and neighbors (loud barking dogs all day/night). The host provides sound machines and ear plugs, but they provided little relief. The washer/dry are in a shared laundry room, so you have to time laundry; dryers take forever.
