The Space:

The Spruce Cabin sits on a quiet 1.2-acre wooded lot in Twin Lakes, surrounded by San Isabel National Forest and minutes from some of Colorado's most iconic 14,000-foot peaks.

The cabin has been updated with new finishes while keeping its mountain character. A wood-burning stove heats the main living area efficiently — firewood is provided and stacked outside. Electric baseboard heaters supplement in bedrooms and bath.

Kitchen:

Fully appointed with everything you need to cook for the group.

Amenities:

✔ Wood-burning stove + firewood provided

✔ Satellite WiFi

✔ Smart TV — stream Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube (no cable)

3 PROS:

1. Location — minutes from Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft), La Plata Peak, Huron Peak, and dozens of trails

2. Privacy — 1.2-acre wooded lot, no neighbors in your sightline

3. Wood stove — efficient heat, mountain atmosphere, firewood always stocked

2 CONS:

1. No A/C — at ~9,200 ft, open windows and fans keep the cabin comfortable in summer

2. Satellite internet — reliable in clear weather; storms can cause outages (cell service works as backup)

Guest Access:

Entire cabin is yours — please make yourself at home. Self check-in via keypad (code sent before arrival). Free outdoor parking on the property.

The Neighborhood:

Twin Lakes sits at the base of Independence Pass, between Leadville and Buena Vista, surrounded by the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains. Mt. Elbert — Colorado's tallest at 14,440 ft — is a short drive from the cabin. The area is quieter and less crowded than most Colorado mountain towns.

Getting Around:

You'll need a car — there's no public transit or reliable rideshare in Twin Lakes.

AWD/4WD is recommended year-round and essential in winter. The cabin is on a rural road. Roads and driveway are plowed, but delays happen — be prepared for snowy conditions Nov–Apr.

From Denver (DEN): ~2hr drive via I-70 W to Hwy 91 S, then Hwy 24 to Twin Lakes.

From Eagle/Vail (EGE): ~1.5hr drive.

From Aspen (ASE): 50min over Independence Pass (May–Nov only; 3+ hrs via I-70 in winter).

Once here, Leadville is 15 min north for groceries, restaurants, and supplies. Free parking at the cabin.
