RIAD VERT de Nina

Spacious, clean and conveniently located Riad. It was very homely and we were taken care of very well by the owner Nina and staff.

The better I got to know Marrakech, the more I realised how exquisitely decorated this riad is. We stayed in the first floor room, which has its own terrace/balcony with table, chairs, and two sofas. It felt like we were staying in a really special property. We were lucky enough to have the riad to ourselves for most of our stay which made it seem all the more like home from home. The property also has a beautiful roof terrace / garden with amazing views of the Big Atlas Mountains. The riad is just 10 minutes walk from main sites like Bahia Palace and Jemaa-al-Fnaa, and Google maps was up to date enough to take us through the back alleys to places like Ben Youssef Madersa and Photography Museum so that it only took 15-20 minutes. Although inside the riad is, of course, peaceful, it's actually in a fairly quiet part of the Medina. Touria and Bader were on hand if we had any questions, and Nina provided lots of useful information via WhatsApp to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We particularly appreciated the option of a meal at the riad on our first night as we arrived so late. Nina also arranged transport to and from the hotel, which was good as I wasn't sure how close any other taxi would know to go, whereas we were dropped off practically at the front door. This is a really important fact to know if you're staying in the Medina (old town section inside the walls). The breakfasts, prepared by Touria, were delicious, and always far more than we could manage! The air conditioning in the bedroom was a lifeline in a heatwave! The room had lots of storage space so it was good to be able to completely unpack the suitcase. There were also sockets either side of the bed.

There's not much to criticise really and any issues were more the fault of the 40°C heat than the riad itself. Riads are designed to stay cool on the ground floor, which this did. Our first floor room was cool on the bits that were inside (bedroom and bathroom) because of the air conditioning. It just meant the terrace/balcony part was a little too warm to use during the day because this is open sided. And forget using the roof terrace in a heatwave (which is almost all open to the elements)! But eating breakfast on the terrace was fine as it's cooler in the mornings. I liked the firmness of the bed, but my husband found it a little too hard for his liking.

Wir haben und im Riad Vert sehr wohlgefühlt. Zentral in der trubeligen Medina gelegen, war die Unterkunft unser Ruhepol, kühl und leise. Am Morgen wurden wir vom Muezzin und den Vögeln geweckt. Gilles und Nina waren zuvorkommend und hilfreich, der Manager vor Ort sehr bemüht und herzlich. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder und empfehlen die Unterkunft weiter!
