Grandpa's villa Jaffna

We had the most beautiful stay at Grandpa's villa. The house is stunning. Our room was clean and comfortable with amazing air con. Breakfast was incredible and homemade each morning. We tried something different each day - vegetable roti, idiyappam, dosa, all accompanied with fresh fruit! Jaffna town is easily accessible by a short tuk tuk ride. We felt so welcomed and looked after. Truly a home away from home and we cannot recommend it enough. We'll definitely be returning to Grandpa's villa when we visit Jaffna again!

Nothing - was an amazing stay!

Im Badezimmer gab es heißes Wasser und das große, saubere Zimmer war modern ausgestattet und ruhig. Bei der Ankunft wurden wir von Raksi herzlich empfangen. Auch sein Bruder Vnu war hilfbereit und zuvorkommend. Beim Frühstück war Sureka flexibel, da sie es im Haus frisch zubereitet hat. Wir haben bedauert, dass wir nur eine Nacht bleiben konnten.

Our stay at Grandpas Villa in Jaffna was truly unforgettable. As we have been traveling for four weeks, we decided to spend a little more than our usual budget and it did not disappoint! Jaffna has been at the top of our list to visit, and the experience staying af Grandpas Villa definitely contributed to our newfound love for the area. The rooms are beautiful: spacious, extremely clean and great beds. The shower is the best we’ve had and might be better than the one we have at home, while the pool is perfect to cool off and relax when you’ve spent a day out. Most importantly, it was the amazing service and thoughtfulness of the staff which made our stay so memorable. They went absolutely above and beyond!! Chef Sureka cooked us delicious breakfast and even prepared us crab curry Jaffna style - the best curry we’ve ever had. Raksi was always there to answer our questions and accommodate our needs. Thadha likewise, she really helped us organize our trip to Delft and supported in a great way. Last but not least, Veenu gave us more insight into Tamil culture and performed beautiful henna on our hands!! Thank you so much to everyone at Grandpas Villa, you’re the best!!!

Taksi the cleaner and waiter was VERY efficient, positive and friendly. The villa was spotlessly clean. The Villa is lucky to have Taksi and his brother working there! The look of the building and the pool. Very spacious room and en-suite.

The so-called ‘American’ breakfast - which was very stingy indeed and disappointing. (We have stayed at many cheaper accommodations all of which have served a much more generous breakfast). The Villa does not provide suppers but it is quite a distance from alternative eating places.
