Uphill Manor Bed & Breakfast

absolutely everything we liked about Uphill Manor, Harriet, Tina & Craig were amazing hosts, amazing breakfasts, homemade bread, everything was perfect. the Manor was out of this world, all very homely and spacious, and the grounds were outstanding, everything you would need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay, the bedrooms were very spacious and extremely clean and well maintained.

This place is a gem. I have never written a review so early before but this place and the owners are incredible and they deserve all the good things as they really treat you so wonderfully here. We drove up and the first thing that hits you is the amazing grounds. Acres of beautiful manicured gardens. Simply stunning. We parked easily and walked to the house entrance and were met by Harriet the lovely friendly host who gave us our keys and showed us around. The house is incredible. Like walking into the Traitors (TV) castle! Lots of lovely places to sit and enjoy a cuppa or watch tv. By roaring fireplaces. Very peaceful. It feels like a “very grand” home from home. The host Harriet and her mother Tina are so welcoming and helpful and we loved hearing about the history of the property. It’s been lovingly restored and it is so so beautiful. The rooms we had were adjoining for our child to sleep in and were so clean and had the lovely touch of some home made shortbread left for us. Bathrooms large and spacious and warm! Heating on and wood fires around the house made it so cosy. We were made to feel so welcome. When I mentioned that we had to be up earlier than 8am breakfast they had no issue with making it earlier for us. And accommodating “off menu” breakfast items for a fussy child! It’s a level of care and kindness we didn’t expect. In the morning a beautiful table was set. And pancakes made and filled with chocolate for my son turned up. Such lovely people here. We massively recommend this place. It’s a very very rare thing to have a property so beautiful but also clean and well equipped but to have hosts who really care about your experience and make it so fabulous, it’s priceless. They should really charge more. It’s worth every penny. What a brilliant find. Only sad we probably won’t be coming again as we are based in London 4-hours drive away…. And they can’t allow dogs - we’d want to return with our little cockapoo. Otherwise we would be back for sure.

What’s not to like?? It’s perfect.

Simply the perfect place. Just have to say what a wonderful place this is. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. We have stayed in some lovely hotels in the past but this beats them all hands down. The room was perfect and completely spotless and the house is just breathtaking. Perfect hosts and perfect food and slept like a baby. The most enjoyable relaxing stay, just perfect. We will be returning as everything else pales in comparison x

Exceptional accommodation and service. Beautiful, historic interior and we really felt at home and able to use all the communal rooms. My husband enjoyed the snooker table in particular! Bedroom was spacious, comfortable, perfect temperature and well-appointed . Immaculate bathroom with excellent hot shower. What made this stay particularly special though, were the hosts. Tina, Craig and Harriet could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts here were delicious, and served in an impressive dining room with relaxed atmosphere. The homemade bread for toast was absolutely smashing. We were lucky enough to visit when Uphill Manor was decorated for Christmas, and it was so cosy and nicely done. We knew the area already as used to live nearby. Village and beach are lovely, and the property is close to WSM train station so we hopped to Bath for the day with ease.
