Friend Nest Bangkok

We just stayed here for 4-5 hours as we had to check out from our previous hotel and our flight was only at 10.30 pm. It's a nice and well done up homestay/guest house, with a friendly and helpful lady who helped us check in. The room was comfortable enough and had whatever amenities we needed. Bathroom was clean (though quite tiny). Location is close-ish to Chatuchak Market. You can get unlimited drinking water from the third floor. Wifi was fast and reliable. Overall great value for money.

Location is good to get to Chatuchak market and DMK airport- may be difficult for people who want to explore the more touristy and shopping areas of Bangkok. No elevator- but I don't think this is a stay meant for people with huge luggage anyway! It was a nice place and met our needs perfectly.

I ended up staying at Friend Nest for the entirety of my 3 months in Bangkok and I can’t recommend it enough. The rooms I stayed in were comfortable and clean, there’s a small fridge in the room and you can get water from the dispenser on the 3rd floor. Ear plugs are also provided for those who might be more sensitive to noise from the street, but personally that was never an issue for me. It’s free to use the washing machine one time a week (extra use is 50 baht) which is very convenient for those who are there for a longer stay. MRT Lat Phrao is pretty close by, maybe a 10 min walk, so travelling to other parts of Bangkok and transferring to the BTS isn’t complicated at all. You do have to use an over pass to get to and from the MRT, so I do agree that it is better to get a Grab from the airport if you have heavy luggage to avoid bringing them up and down stairs. There’s also a 7/11 and some cafes and restaurants beside the building as well. The best part of my stay here was the hospitality that Poy, Bew, and their family showed me whilst I was there. Everyone is so kind and really go out of the way to help you out if you need it. My birthday also happened to be during my stay, and they organised a dinner for me and even got me a cake which I was so grateful for as they really didn’t need to do so. It really does feel like I’ve made great connections whilst there, and I do hope to visit again whenever I’m in Bangkok next!
