South Paradise Sea View

We (family of 5) stayed at this luxury penthouse apartment at Pure South and it was exceptional. The apartment itself is modern, clean, well appointed and well equipped as you would expect (although a toaster and kettle - there is a fancy coffee machine - would have been good). The large balcony which overlooks the shared pool is amazing with plenty of room to enjoy a lazy lunch in the sun, dinner al fresco or a glass of wine in the evening watching the lights of the boats traversing the sea. The pool closest to the apartment is large enough to accommodate the number of apartments (there are 2 pools in total) and there were always sun loungers available. The kids loved playing in the pool and there were plenty of other children to make friends with (of all nationalities). The reasonably equipped modern gym, sauna (unfortunately closed for the season on our trip), the pool table, and chill out space was a great touch and the kids (16, 14 & 12) enjoyed a bit of independence by going there of an evening to meet their new friends in a safe environment. Whilst the apartment would be suitable for guests with mobility issues as it has a lift from the garage to the apartment and is all on the level, the location of the apartment at the top of a hill, means a car is probably essential. There is a secure private garage operated by remote control which is great to keep the car cool. The location of the apartment was a great base to explore the costa del Sol with the main road at the bottom of the hill meaning we managed to explore the main towns (Marbella, Estepona, Malaga, Fuengirola) as well as a day trip to Gibraltar only 30 mins away with relative ease. The local town and Puerta de la Duquesa is a 5 minute drive with lots of great local eateries which the family enjoyed. The local beach is walkable in 10-15 mins with a walkway over the road at the bottom of the hill to the pebbled beach where there are a couple of beach bars that were very good.
