We’re already planning a return trip to this private, spacious and refined retreat. The pictures don’t do it justice. Every room offers private views of the woods, river or distant hills. My family felt immediately at home with fun, yet tasteful decor and rustic elegance. With two private bedrooms with queen beds, three twin mattresses in the loft, and extra sleeping space in the family room, there’s room to spread out in this clean cabin. Everyone could stretch out on the supple sofa and chairs as we streamed movie nights. Even though the cabin was at a perfect temperature, the wood stove added so much coziness and warmth. We also had a bonfire outdoors despite the snow with roasted marshmallows, thanks to available skewers, a fire pit, ample wood, and Adirondack chairs. As someone who enjoys cooking, I appreciated the variety of quality cookware, pancake griddle, waffle maker, blender, coffee maker, kettle, cookie trey/cooling rack, etc. Even the little touches such as the bluetooth speaker, record player, puzzles/games/travel books, tech hideaway box, and especially the refined linens, quality coffee and tea, laundry supplies, and kitchen essentials (plastic wrap, paper towels, foil, etc) and toiletries made it easy to settle in. It’s great that the clubhouse with the shuffleboard, foosball, and other games is above the garage to separate any noise from the main cabin. We were also so relieved to see the EV charger with adapter as the rural surroundings didn’t have many convenient places for charging. This saved us so much time! Although we planned excursions in the area (skiing, maple sugar house tour at von Trapp Family Lodge, Umiac Sled Dogs, Ben & Jerry’s Tour, etc), we adjusted our schedule once we saw how many outdoor recreation options were available just outside our door. There were great trails nearby for mountain biking, snowshoeing, or just exploring. We event went fishing on the river.
