Sokwayah Jungle Villas & Retreat

We couldn't have had a better stay in Ubud without Putu's hospitality, his kindness and attention to detail. The location of Sokwayah Jungle Villas is just perfect with being right in the middle of rice paddy fields but still being walkable to the centre of Ubud (with great restaurants and the attractions within reach). It was made extra special by the lovely decorations for my partner's birthday - a huge thank you for this lovely touch! The room was spacious and was kept spotless during our stay. It was so nice to have the pool with great views of the sunset too. Putu's communication was fantastic with answering any questions we had via WhatsApp. He helped us to book any tours and experiences and made sure we had our breakfast order in for each morning. Breakfast was fantastic - we loved the Indonesian options particularly! The attention to detail was clear in every way from the complimentary toiletries, to bathrobes and slippers and the lovely local welcome drink on arrival. It was a privilege to stay here and I know I will recommend to any friends or family who are visiting Ubud in the future. Thank you for a memorable trip and best wishes!

Wyjątkowy klimat, cisza, domki w okolicznościach dzikiej natury. Bardzo pomocni właściciele dostępni 24 na dobę. Miejsce bardzo zadbane! W okolicy lokalne knajpki ze smacznym jedzeniem. Bardzo dobre śniadania z możliwością wyboru kilku wersji. Polecam!

The only positive aspect of our stay was Putu, who genuinely tried to help resolve the issues we raised. He was professional, attentive, and even offered us a complimentary spa treatment as a gesture of goodwill. While we appreciated his effort, we chose not to accept the offer because we believe it is important to provide an honest review of our overall experience. Unfortunately, despite Putu’s excellent customer service, the overall stay was disappointing and did not meet our expectations. We would not choose to stay here again.

We were very disappointed with our stay at Sokwayah Jungle. The property looks beautiful in photos, but unfortunately the actual experience was far below expectations. There were several major issues during our stay: 1. The swimming pool water was noticeably cloudy and did not appear clean. 2. There was a persistent sewage smell coming from the drainage system, which made it difficult to fully relax and enjoy the villa. 3. The shuttle service was unreliable and often not available on time, causing unnecessary inconvenience. 4. Overall maintenance and guest experience did not meet the standard we expected for this price point.
