About this apartment rental
Built in the early 18th century by a Savannah judge for his daughters, the home was designed as a pair of side-by-side townhouses — identical in architecture but divided by personality. Mildred, the proper sister, moved into the right side and spent her days baking and judging the neighborhood in silence. But Myrle claimed this upstairs flat and filled it with life: piano music, clinking glasses, whispered secrets, and the occasional scandal. The two sisters loved one another deeply, but their differences were legendary — and their friendly rivalry never really faded, even with time.
Inside the apartment, you’ll find two queen bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a sunny living room with tall windows, and a full kitchen stocked for cooking, sipping, or simply stashing your takeout from the city's best restaurants. There’s a private porch in front for people-watching or sharing a late-night drink, and a quieter porch in the back for morning coffee and long exhale moments. The original hardwood floors creak softly underfoot, and the space feels like exactly what it is: a home that’s seen love, mischief, and many good nights.
Some guests say Myrle never left. You might feel her in a burst of perfume, a flickering hallway light, or a missing wine glass that reappears just where you left it. She means no harm — she simply enjoys the company. She especially enjoys it when guests arrive with good stories and a bottle to share.
The space is kept in shape by our long-trusted housekeeper, Miss Stacy. She’s a legend in her own right — warm-hearted, quick-witted, and endlessly tolerant of Myrle’s ghostly tricks. She’ll make sure the apartment is clean and welcoming before you arrive, and may stop by if anything needs restocking. Otherwise, you’ll have full privacy to enjoy the space as your own.
Just two blocks from Forsyth Park and a short stroll to Savannah’s finest restaurants, cocktail bars, squares, and shops, this location is one of the city’s most walkable and picturesque. From ghost tours to garden walks, jazz lounges to rooftop cocktails, everything Savannah has to offer is within reach.
This isn’t a new build. It’s an old, beautiful, timeworn place with quirks and character. The floors speak. The doors may not close perfectly. But what it offers is something rare: a home with soul, wrapped in story.
If you’re seeking a Savannah stay with porches, history, comfort, and a touch of mischief, you’ve found it. Myrle wouldn’t have it any other way.
