Four Chalets Yala

We stayed here only one night while driving to Galle but to be honest we wanted to stay longer when we saw it. The 4 chalets are amazing. Absolute opulence from arriving at the gate. The rooms are simply amazing, large well appointed and clean. We had breakfast and dinner here which were both awesome. It was so quiet that all you could hear was the sounds of nature. Also a lot of birdlife around. The staff were very attentive and helpful, wanting to make our stay comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a pearl in very sense.. architecture, Desing, decoration, ambience, pool, food, location.. everything is amazing and the staff... they are super friendly and we felt like home.. thank to them :)

It was my fave hotel during our time in Sri Lanka. Everything was clean and spotless. Room was massive and you could tell that the place was done well with high quality material. It felt very private as they only had 4 rooms. It is exactly as seen in the photos (maybe even better). Rating location at 5 because it is quite near the national park, not sure about town centre as we didn’t leave the hotel to explore - all we did was relax and the friendly staff took care of everything else. They also packed breakfast for a 4.40am departure for our safari tour - it was really good! Highly recommend to anyone who visits Yala.

Well maintained and luxury in design, but no one can solve problems, and few speaks English. Positives: incredibly nice and spacious room, good pool and garden. Good details in the room design. Negatives: - Operational manager informed us about timings of start, break, and end, so we went for full day safari. We first arrived late to the park, then the driver took a nap during the morning drive in the middle of the park, then the lunch break was started almost an hour too early (park closed 12-14, so making lunch break almost 3 hours was excessive). Finally we agreed to stay close to 18 when the park closes, to see animals when it gets less hot, but the driver decided we left 16:45. He spoke little English so we gave up arguing. This bugged me. We did see many animals and he did also place the car better than others. - Check out took 50 minutes extra as they could not understand that we paid room and safari in advance. They attempted to charge us 5 different and higher prices which we all rejected. I asked about talking to a manager 4 times before we settled it. This was a waste of our vacation time. Not sure if they did not understand the math or their own system and prices , or if they deliberately tried to overcharge/double charge. It felt strange. - The room door’s access thingie unlocked during night, which woke us up. Eventually it went off very loud like an alarm, this was super intrusive. Not pleasant to be interrupted in sleep, especially as safaris start so early that sleep is required. - Everyone was friendly and it seemed like they did their best, but they never understood us or what we asked for, so the service didn’t match the price. Too much confusion and miscommunication. One note though: the suitcase guy was super understanding and really helped us. Not sure he spoke English, but he always intuitively understood our intentions and wishes.
