Mayon Al-Areed Serviced Apartments

My recent stay in a narrow room left me with very mixed feelings about the property. For travelers looking for a place to crash for just one day or a couple of days at most, the room offers good value, but it comes with notable drawbacks that you should weigh carefully before booking. The room itself is quite narrow, featuring no window to let in natural light and practically no sound isolation. You can easily hear noise from adjacent rooms and the hallway, which makes resting a challenge if you are a light sleeper. However, given the affordable pricing, it provides a functional roof over your head for a very brief, short-term stopover where you plan to spend most of your time outside. Service quality was the most polarized aspect of the visit. The experience with the two Asian receptionist staff was disappointing. Both of them displayed a poor attitude, acting more like corporate CEOs than hospitality professionals. They were unfriendly, unwelcoming, and made the check-in process feel unnecessarily cold and rigid. Fortunately, the negative impression left by the front desk was partially salvaged by the Saudi gentleman on staff. He was exceptionally welcoming, polite, and cooperative, going out of his way to be helpful and ensuring that the rest of the experience remained tolerable. While the price point is attractive for a quick, one- or two-day stay, the inconsistent service and lack of basic room comforts mean I would only recommend it if you are strictly on a tight budget and need a quick place to sleep.
