Casa Monir

Casa Monir is a perfect base for two couples or a family staying in Taormina. Great location on a quiet street only a few minutes walk from the shuttle bus stop, cable car and Porta Messina. Comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a short or longer term stay. The views from the balcony are spectacular. Monir is a wonderful host - we received help carrying our luggage to the apartment and were welcomed with a fridge full of cold drinks (including sparking wine) and breakfast supplies. Monir even left us a tray of fresh local cookies on our second day - delicious!

The apartment is up several flights of stairs without a lift, but this is common in Italy and worth it for the views! Shower took a while to drain.

From the warm welcome to all the amenities and local goodies like wine and treats the host checked in daily and even brought us local biscuits :) our highlight was the balcony overlooking Taormina and the sea. Value for money over exceeded. All restaurant bars and shop are just around the corner and you are right in the heart of Taormina. The flat is spacious well equipped and in a very good and new state. Highly recommend.

The flat is spotless and smells very good. Host has great decorative tastes, this apartment has a soul, it is not just the typical neutral rental apartment. The view from the balcony is exceptional, perfect to admire the sunrise. Very calm surroundings. The supermarket is down the building at 30 seconds walk. Attentive/helpful host : a wooden spoon was missing to cook, Monir bought it in the hour and brought it to us with some pastries in bonus.

No lift in the building, flat located on the 4th floor. Not a big deal but to take into consideration.

We had a wonderful stay at Mounir’s beautiful two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment from May 6–10, 2026. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. Mounir went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable, even helping arrange transportation from Ortigia to the apartment, which made arrival stress-free. The apartment itself was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was especially well-stocked, including coffee, food, supplies, and even a lovely bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. One of the most thoughtful touches was the fresh pastries provided on our first day and delicious fresh cannoli delivered during our stay — such a special Sicilian welcome. Everything in the apartment was well thought out, comfortable, and inviting. We especially appreciated Mounir allowing us to leave our luggage in the apartment for a couple of hours after checkout while we waited for our driver. That flexibility made our departure day so much easier. There is no elevator, and guests should be prepared for quite a climb up the stairs to reach the apartment. However, the distant sea views from the upper bedrooms and the charming atmosphere made it well worth the effort. Overall, this was a wonderful stay with warm hospitality, thoughtful touches, and a very comfortable apartment in a great location. We would gladly stay here again without hesitation.
