New - Very Central New York Cafe

L’unica cosa a suo sfavore è che il letto non è un matrimoniale ma ha due materassi da lettino uniti… per il resto una bella struttura anche se piccolina.

The place is pretty small, but has all the things you need for 2-people stay for a few days. Most importantly, it was very clean. And I mean it, it was clean. Nice and snow-white bedding. Nice and clean bathroom. We highly recommend it to any couple or single person. Also, the location is ideal. The metro station is just around the corner, and there is a bus stop just outside. The street is packed with restaurants, including one recommended by Michelin. However, I do recommend a very small Chinese place just across the street a bit to the left where they serve exquisite dumplings.

It was very difficult to think of anything, perhaps the compact size of the place, but as I mentioned above, it wasn't a deal-breaker at all.

Location was good. Bed was comfy (although you will sink into the middle a little where the two mattresses meet). Modern design. Good use of space with unexpected storage options given the structure of the room (like it was well thought out). Strong air conditioning. The host was nice and helpful.

Any time you use water in the bathroom (sink, shower, flushing), there is a terrible stench of sewage and it lingers. You can hear every banging door and conversation had in the courtyard area. No shades/curtains on the door so when the sun comes up, you are awake. Also, the door lock was incredibly annoying. I get it now having used another similar one in a different city but it’s confusing with how you have to pull the handle up (there are picture instructions on the inside but it could be clearer that you just have to move it up rather than hold it up and turn the key simultaneously). Ultimately, I think I could have managed everything else but the bathroom smell alone would prevent me from rebooking (which is a shame because it wasn’t a bad place and I think it’s just a matter of it being an old building with old pipes).
