In summer, the region offers numerous activities amidst the impressive mountain scenery. Hikers, mountain bikers, and nature lovers will find an extensive network of trails, rustic alpine huts, and breathtaking views. Families can explore leisurely themed trails or take a refreshing dip in one of the clear mountain lakes. The Schladming-Dachstein Summer Card also offers free or discounted access to over 100 attractions—including mountain railways, museums, swimming pools, and amusement parks.
In winter, you can experience an authentic winter vacation at the Planneralm and the Riesneralm, away from the hustle and bustle of large ski resorts. The Planneralm is Styria’s highest-altitude ski resort and impresses with natural snow, a family-friendly atmosphere, and varied slopes. In addition to a compact ski area, the Riesneralm also features Austria’s first children’s ski area—ideal for families with little ones hitting the slopes. The first floor features a welcoming entryway, a bathroom with a toilet, an open-concept living and dining area, and a bedroom with a double bed.
A staircase leads to the open loft, which is furnished with two single beds—ideal for children or additional guests.
