Welcome—A Dreamy Vacation Rental in a Farmhouse!
Come on in, take a deep breath, and awaken your senses. You’ll see swallows and sparrows—hear birds chirping—and smell the fresh country air, which is cleaner here than anywhere else. Walk barefoot across the lawn in the morning and feel the dew between your toes. You’ll realize that peace and quiet—the idyllic countryside—still exist.
In a secluded location, just outside the fishing village of Stahlbrode, you’ll find, next to our farm, a vacation apartment of approximately 120 m² in the farmhouse cottage, newly renovated in 2025 and very comfortably furnished. With 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious living and dining area with a fireplace, this apartment accommodates up to 6 adults and two toddlers up to 3 years old in a travel crib—making it a comfortable home away from home even for an extended family including grandparents. Wi-Fi and a terrace with a grill are available.
On the lower level, you’ll find the entryway with the staircase, a large kitchen-living area connected to the family room, and the spacious shower room. Everything is on one level and equipped with underfloor heating. Of course, you can also use the fireplace during the winter months. The attic has 3 bedrooms. Two are furnished with double beds (1.80 m and 1.60 m wide), and one with a bed (90 x 200 cm) that can also be pulled out to form a double bed. A crib and a high chair are available free of charge. There is also a bathroom with a tub on the upper floor.
The staircase to the upper floor has a child safety gate, and the windows are equipped with insect screens.
The beds will be made upon your arrival; please bring your own towels.
In the back of the garden, there is a small play area; we also have a small petting zoo with chickens, cute rabbits, and Paule the dachshund. Depending on availability, we’d be happy to sell you fresh eggs for breakfast.
It’s only 15 km to the kilometer-long, fine-sand beach at Palmer Ort on Rügen.
Free parking is available right next to the house. The public transit bus stop is about 1,000 meters away.
The fishing village of Stahlbrode—our neighboring town, also about 1.5 km away and a 5-minute drive—is located at the harbor (Bodden-Baltic Sea). Shopping options are available in Brandshagen (Netto supermarket toward Stralsund) and in Gristow; there’s also a supermarket just before the island of Riems (toward Greifswald).
While in Stahlbrode, be sure to visit the seafood restaurant at the small harbor. They serve fish caught that very day. In the summer, the terrace offers a wonderful view of the harbor and the island of Rügen, which you can reach in about 7 minutes by car ferry (Stahlbrode/Glewitz).
You can also go swimming at the unspoiled beaches of Falkenhagen and Stahlbrode. There’s also a boat rental in Stahlbrode. The kiosk at the harbor offers fresh rolls and a few snacks, as well as newspapers and magazines, every day. Be sure to try the freshly caught fish and the wide variety of smoked specialties, all served in a cozy atmosphere.
