About this apartment rental
As a professional jazz pianist, I found myself visiting New Orleans again and again for inspiration. So I bought an abandoned brick house, stripped it to the frame, and restored it lovingly. Warm tones of dark wood, a clean uncluttered look, dimmable lighting, ceiling fans, mini-split zone cooling and heating, extensive soundproofing. And an immaculate grand piano that is a work of art in itself, a 7’ 4” Yamaha C7. I built my paradise. Now I share it with kindred souls when I’m on the road.
The space
The apartment is on the second floor. There is a private outdoor stairway and balcony. In the front parlor is a lounging area, a kitchen/dining area, and a Yamaha semi concert grand piano. There is a king bedroom, a queen bedroom, a bathroom with walk-in shower, and a modern large-capacity washer and dryer.
Guest access
Guests have private access and use of the entire upstairs apartment.
Other things to note
-This accommodation is intended to be a retreat for pianists, an inspiring place to to practice, compose, record.
-It isn’t a jam spot. No amps, no drums.
-A new Yamaha C7 costs $80,000. Treat this fine concert instrument with due respect.
-Make yourself at home. Feel free to use any food or household items you find.
-Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Be respectful of your downstairs neighbors.
-Smoking is permitted on the balcony only.
