The host was very welcoming and even picked us up from the nearby station upon first arrival.
Very flexible in switching between simple Japanese and English.
Facilities were great including the electric carpet during the winter months.
The house is in a calm part of Osaka, but still well connected with train to the metropolitan area and even Nara.
Some parts of the house can get a bit cold. But if you close the doors and isolate it becomes pretty warm (also of you use the electric carpet). We chose the house for its authentic and traditional Japanese house build, so it was to be expected.

We came as guests. We left as friends. A truly special, unique experience. The property is austere but comfortable. Definitely an authentic Japanese guesthouse.
More room for sitting on the toilet would have been good.
