Waterhead Rooms & Suites - Parking and Light Breakfast

Bed was comfortable and big. Towels were great, plenty of hot water and magnificent shower. Room was reasonably large with plenty storage and hooks

The title of the property is misleading, on approach it is ‘The Fisherbeck’, and this is the emblem embroidered into the bedding. Calling it the Waterhead fools you into thinking it is somewhere else. No lift, bit impersonal not having a reception. The parking arrangement is not as suggested on booking.com site. There are not enough spaces for all the rooms and latecomers may end up disappointed. Having said that we had good parking for 24 hours free, but only learned of the situation after we had booked and paid with no cancellation, which led to some anxiety.

Comfy large beds. Good communication. Loved the separate room to make a coffee, have breakfast etc.

No meals which was fine. Cafes nearby. Great area. Very picturesque

Great location. Close to the lake and shops just a short walk away. Lots of lovely trails to explore.

No staff onsite. If we needed assistance we had to scan a QR code for “virtual reception”. There was a shared kitchen area which appeared to have been gutted - just the shells of cupboards, a sink, two microwave ovens and a kettle. So much for self catering. It had the appearance of a run down hostel in desperate need of renovation.
