It's fine once you know what you're getting into. I didn't.
The location. It's right in the centre of town. The staff were also nice.
I didn't like basically everything else. The staff were welcoming but there seemed to be confusion about the booking, and they were using A4 sheets as opposed to a digital system. Nothing wrong with the A4 sheets as long as the information on it is kept up to date but in this case they just forgot about my booking. Entered the (really basic) room and although the extractor fan was working, the actual bathroom light wasn't so you had to leave the bathroom door open if you wanted any light into it. There was a television set but it was broken. Picture but no sound. There is a radiator but it was switched off on a cold evening and took at least an hour to heat the room up once switched on. The rooms are just beds and clothes stores and a very basic dressing table. There's no coffee machine, no hairdryer, no telephone, no work desk. Just a place to lay your head, presumably for the bar's clientele with no night transport. Which brings me to what I disliked the most. The noise. They have a night bar and if you're in bed rather than at the night bar, you won't be able to get to sleep. The walls don't do very well to keep out the noise. It probably wouldn't be so bad if the music was in any way decent. Give me some jazz, some ambient or experimental electro and I'd be happy out. This is incessant 2000s vanilla R&B interspersed with cringy Irish country floor fillers, but the DJ has this 1 second thumping bass line to back it up; it's the bass line that ensures you will not get to sleep and you'll have to suffer the cringiness of what passes for nightlife in Arklow.

    Grand for an overnight stay
We stayed over last minute as attending a funeral. We hadnt organised breakfast but they got the chef to come in early to do breakfast for us. Staff couldnt have been more helpful
Bathroom was a bit rundown with dodgy toilet lid but it was clean and perfect for our needs.

DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU ARE STAYING OUT UNTIL 2:30am
Location was walking distance to local pubs for food and drinks.
Check in process was a disaster. We had 2 people with a lot of luggage, wandering through a packed bar, trying to find someone to help us. We didn’t know the pub below the hotel was actually a full on dance club that had loud, bass music until 2:30am. Ear plugs were no match for this sound as the whole room shook until closing time.
