Rather low value for money.
We arrived 15 mins earlier and were made to stand on the street - was freezing cold outside;
Insufficient light in the bathroom.
No contact with manager before leaving - no place to store luggage after checkout

The fact that the host, Monet, called me while we were en route in our car to check arrival time and explain the key arrangements, and advise about free parking at Arsenaal (although it would have been even more helpful for him to advise against dropping off the bags first and thus incurring a 150 euro LEZ fine plus 75 euro later registration fine. And, yes, I know we should have done our research on driving in Ghent first, but we didn't.)
Monet's son, Eamon (apologies if mis-spelt), helping carry our very heavy suitcase up the two steep flights of stairs to our room.
The room rate was reasonable for location, had a comfortable bed and good shower.
The lack of clarity on the booking site about the facilities in the room. I understood from the site that we had a room with double bed but the pictures on the site suggested that it was an apartment with lounge, TV and kitchenette. As a result, we had brought provisions with us to make our own breakfast, which we couldn't use because our room did not have a lounge/kitchenette. I gently raised this with Eamon - not complaining, just mentioning my confusion - and he said he would speak to his father.
I was more than a little surprised and unimpressed to then receive a call from Monet, angrily ranting down the phone that guests should properly read the website, that he was a businessman and had over 30 units of accommodation, and not all rooms in the Ritz were the same. Although bemused/amused initially, this left a bad taste in our mouths at the start of my wife and my stay in Ghent.
The accommodation was very basic. For example, there was no kettle, TV, glasses or cups and nor could we see any information on wifi (I was not inclined to contact Monet about this after his rant on our arrival).
The accommodation still seemed to be in the throes of redecoration - the floors in the separate bath room and toilet were just chipboard, and the toilet wall painting was incomplete.
My wife was massacred by mosquitoes during our stay. We killed 5 on our first morning and thought we had got rid of them all, but clearly got that wrong too, as she was bitten all over in the subsequent 2 nights. This is not something that can be blamed on the accommodation but is something about which future guests might wish to be aware.

Good value for money, friendly helpful host.
Clean, spacious, excellent location for sightseeing, shops and restaurants. Had all facilities needed. Host was polite, helpful and welcoming.
Advertised as two bedroom apartment, wasn’t a two bed however there was a single bed set up in corner of living area. Advertised as soundproof definitely wasn’t, tenants above could be heard, along with opposite neighbours. These things wouldn’t have been an issue for us as we were a couple so didn’t need two rooms however could be misleading for others who are in need of the two bedrooms. I’d also suggest taking out that it is soundproof again if this hadn’t of been advertised wouldn’t of picked up on it however as it was stated to be soundproof didn’t expect to hear every footstep, knock and bang of above tenants.

De locatie was top! Het bed was super goed en de host was heel aardig. Appartemenr was verzorgd.
Er misten een aantal dingen in het appartement. Geen ramp maar was wel fijn geweest.

La posizione abbastanza vicina al centro.
La struttura è difficile da trovare poiché ad eccezione del numero civico non vi è alcuna indicazione del nome. Siamo arrivati alle 13.30, il check in era disponibile dalle 15 e alla nostra richiesta di lasciare per un' ora due zaini ci è stato risposto che avremmo dovuto pagare 10€. Bagno con wc incrostato, asciugamani insufficienti, nessun appendino, non c'era il phon e la stanza era non era calda. Non lo consiglio.

En primer lugar nos costó un poco encontrarlo porque no tenía cartel, cuando por fin lo encontramos le preguntamos al dueño dónde se encontraba la habitación, ya que está situado en una zona donde se ejerce la prostitución y queríamos saber si nuestra habitación se encontraba encima del local, a lo que súper ofendido contestó de malas maneras: bienvenidas a Europa, esto no es un país musulmán,aquí se ejerce la prostitución. Al preguntarle sobre si conocía algún sitio para dejar las maletas cercano al hotel responde también de malas maneras que él no es ningún locker, que es recepcionista de hotel. Ante nuestra cara de sorpresa por su actitud nos dijo que si no nos gustaba nos podíamos ir, abriendo la puerta y diciendo que nos fuéramos. Como se negaba a devolvernos el dinero decidimos quedarnos y nos obligó a en un papel en blanco escribir que estábamos de acuerdo con el estado de la habitación, siendo que le tuvimos que pedir las toallas y el gel porque ni siquiera quiera había y que el inodoro por dentro estaba negro.Sin mencionar la recepción por llamarlo de alguna manera, con botellas de plástico ,cajas de pizza ,zapatillas tiradas por el suelo.

Excelente ubicación y agradable piso, lo “malo” es completamente solucionable.
La cama es muy cómoda , en conjunto con sus almohadas. Para una noche , ha estado bien… punto a destacar, el hombre que nos ha atendido (no sabemos si es el dueño) ha sido muy amable y de hecho hasta sabía español, lo que nos permitió poder explicarnos mejor.
Se nos ha indicado que no podíamos ingresar antes de las tres (lo cual está perfecto) por cuestiones de limpieza. Hemos llegado y nos hemos encontrado con un tacho de basura lleno y una tanga colgada (entendemos que a la espera de que su dueña anterior la pase a buscar). Si te quieres bañar , no ha cortina ni nada que tape el ventanal … por ende, estaría bueno que a la cortina que tienen le agreguen un hilo para poder bajarla (hay, pero es tan alta que es imposible bajarla).

El anfitrión es super amable te deja hacer el check in a cualquier hora y nosotros tuvimos un problema con el tren y nos estuvo esperando hasta que llegamos un verdadero detalle.

El apartamento está muy bien! Es grande, se encuentra bien ubicado y tiene calefacción, importante porque habiamos ido en dias frios. Muy nuevo además y buena comunicación con el anfitrión. Calidad precio estupenda!
A pesar de todo estar muy bien, echamos en falta quizás más utensilios de cocina, como por ejemplo más cucharitas (eramos 3 y habian solo 2 unidades, y a veces entre que no lavas al momento...), un trapo para limpiar la encimera, papel de cocina y un secador de pelo.

Immense appartement à quelques minutes du centre-ville
Appartement bien situé, à 7 mn à pied du centre, à 2 pas du tram, mais pourtant au calme ! De plus, ce logement est très grand et confortable. Le fils du propriétaire a eu la gentillesse de m’aider à monter ma valise. Merci beaucoup !
