The apartment fully met all the criteria we had when choosing our accommodation. Building: Brand new and built to a very good standard, with a smart access system and stylish lobby. Even the elevators are gold-coloured, and the lighting throughout the building is excellent. Apartment: Very well designed, with a good-sized bedroom and living room. There are wardrobes for clothes and plenty of space for suitcases in the entrance area and both rooms. The pull-out sofa is surprisingly large, the TV screen is huge, and there is a proper dining table. Three people can stay here very comfortably. I would say there is probably enough space for four. I particularly liked the American-style kitchen: although open-plan, it is in a separate recessed corner, making it feel somewhat separated from the living room. There is also a spacious terrace where you can sit outside. Parking: Free directly in front of the building, and we always found a space. We could also see our car from the apartment. Location: I did not want to drive into central Bucharest, so being reasonably close to a metro station was important. Pipera station is within walking distance, although it is a fairly long walk. Another advantage was driving to Therme București without having to cross the city centre and its heavy traffic. Check-in/out: Completely straightforward, and we received the access code in good time. Price: Many similar apartments in the area are advertised with large discounts, but it is worth comparing the final prices. Yacht Kid was actually better value even without a huge advertised discount. Helpful management: We accidentally entered the door code incorrectly several times – entirely our fault. They immediately contacted us by phone and handled the situation in a very friendly and helpful way. Overall, an excellent stay and definitely recommended.
None of these really affected our stay, which is why I still gave it 10/10. They are just a few things that may be useful for future guests to know. Construction: The area is still developing, with several similar buildings under construction nearby. We did not hear any construction noise inside the apartment, but outside the streets can be dusty. Traffic is also heavier around 7–8 a.m. and 5 p.m., when construction workers arrive and leave. Convenience store: There is a FROO on the ground floor of Yacht Kid – essentially the Romanian version of the Polish Żabka concept. It can get quite busy when construction workers from the surrounding sites arrive or leave work. Apart from these peak periods, however, having FROO downstairs is definitely a plus: it is extremely convenient for buying breakfast, drinks, snacks or ready-made meals that can be heated up in the apartment. A little posh: The area feels like one of Bucharest's newer affluent neighbourhoods. You see lots of expensive SUVs, BMWs and Mercedes, driven by businesspeople and many people in their twenties and thirties. This did not bother us at all – everyone we encountered was perfectly normal and friendly. It is simply part of the atmosphere. The name: The “Yacht Kid” name may suggest a waterfront location. A lake is indeed nearby, but there was no view of the water from our apartment – the view was mainly of other similar modern residential buildings. This was not a problem for us at all, but it may be useful to know if the name makes you expect a lake view. Overall, the “cons” above are really just observations rather than complaints. We had a very positive experience, which is why I gave the apartment 10/10 and would happily stay here again.
