Lovely & Centre Flat with Terrace by HostWise

The apartment is very well positioned, close to the Marques metro station (approx. 600 m), from where you can reach the Ribeira district (on the banks of the Douro River) in 5 minutes. The apartment's facilities are exactly as described, and the outdoor space offered... the icing on the cake! We thoroughly enjoyed the moments spent on the sun lounger, with a glass of Port wine

Unfortunately, the experience of communicating with the host left us with a bitter taste, which deeply affected the beginning of our vacation in Porto. Although, initially, everything went OK (I received the check-in instructions), I encountered problems opening the box containing the apartment keys. And this is where the torment began... at the contact number provided by the host on the Booking platform, I was unable to contact anyone (7 consecutive attempts, for an hour... just a preset recording/robot, then music on hold and... automatic closing of the call). In parallel, I contacted the person from the company that manages the apartment, Maria, on WhatsApp. The replies to my countless and desperate messages (I stood in front of the door, on the sidewalk in the street, from 7:00 PM to 12:30 AM!!!) came randomly, with delays of 1 hour and a half, 2 hours... Finally, seeing that I was not receiving any concrete help from the contact person of the host company (to come or send someone to the location to help us) I looked for and booked accommodation for that night at a nearby hotel (Costa do Sol), even though I had already paid for my stay at this apartment. Frustrated, I returned to the Lovely & Centre Flat with Terrace by HostWise location and made one last attempt to open the box containing the keys. This time, I succeeded. So, our first night of accommodation in Porto cost us double (payment made for two locations). CONCLUSION: the host company still needs to work on how it treats its customers when it promises to provide immediate support for any problem they may encounter, 24/7.
