Harmony Heights Shimla

I had a very disappointing experience during my recent stay at the Harmony Heights Shimla hotel in Shimla. I booked a hotel for two nights through Agoda and received full confirmation along with payment proof. I was travelling with three family members, expecting a comfortable stay in a junior family suite. However, upon arrival in the late afternoon, the front desk informed us that we could only stay for one night, despite our confirmed two-night booking. Even after showing the payment receipt, they refused to honour the second night. I immediately contacted Agoda customer care, who assured us they were working to resolve the issue. Later, the hotel owner suggested shifting us to another hotel with a similar room category and promised to transfer our luggage. Since we had guests arriving from outside India, we agreed to cooperate. The next morning, after breakfast, we were asked to pack our luggage and leave it at reception while we went out to explore Shimla. When we returned around 9 PM, we were shocked to find our luggage still lying at reception and no alternative room arranged. The room they eventually showed us was a basic single-occupancy room, far below what we had booked. This felt extremely unprofessional and stressful for my family. At this point, I had to escalate the situation and contacted the Shimla police. After their intervention, the hotel attempted to provide another room, but it still did not meet the standard of a family suite. I then demanded a partial refund through Agoda, and after further pressure, the hotel owner agreed to return half the payment. While the staff seemed cooperative, the hotel owner’s behaviour was highly disappointing and unprofessional. This experience caused unnecessary stress during what should have been a pleasant family trip. I would strongly advise future travellers to reconfirm bookings with this Harmony Heights Shimla hotel before arrival, as mismanagement and poor customer handling may lead to similar issues.
