3 Mi to Beavers Bend State Park: Wooded Hideaway!

It was a very nice, clean comfortable cabin. The beds and pillows were the absolute best and the heat worked well. And there were deer right outside the door.

The driveway is absolutely treacherous and I drive a jeep. If you have a big SUV or truck this isn’t the place for you. There is very little space to park and almost impossible to turn around without going off the side of a cliff. When you arrive there is no way to turn into the driveway even with my jeep. We had to drive past the driveway turn around and come back to make the curve up the driveway. We had requested early check-in when we booked as we were there for my daughter’s wedding and were transporting the wedding cake all the way from Galveston and needed to get it out of my vehicle. The owner responded 30 minutes before we arrived and said we could check in an hour early at 3 but that no one had stayed there in a week so it wasn’t an issue of waiting on it to be cleaned. I even offered to pay extra to check in at 2 and got no reply. I ended up dropping off the wedding cake at 2 and leaving. I was desperate and got a crazy email from the owner because I left the cake there. However the rest of the wedding party staying at other cabins experienced the same thing when requesting early check in so I think that the cabin owners make a habit of poor communication.

The cabin was beautiful, loved the decorations, furniture both inside and out, and the hot tub was nice.

The beds were foam, super hot, not comfortable, and the a/c didn’t work well at night, we were so hot between the a/c and the foam mattresses. There was only 2 spoons in the cabin and no dishwasher. WiFi and internet connection not good. The driveway was super steep and an average car, would have never made it up that hill. The difficult driveway, made us leave and come home once a day, because it was hard to maneuver.
