'Bellevue Manor' on Beauty Point

Clean, perfect amount of rooms for privacy for all guests, linen and towels included, comfy big lounge / lounge room, utensils included, large fridge and island bench in kitchen.

Sewerage smell downstairs that came and went throughout the day, (bit hard to control, we understand)

Lovely location. House is spacious and 3 bathrooms were great

Wasn’t really clean in bathrooms. Lots of hair and could have been cleaner. Milk in fridge dated 6th January and was curdled. A lot of broken shutters which made it difficult to open/shut them

Bellevue Manor is quite an extraordinary house, offering plenty of fabulous spaces (both indoor and out), spectacular views and huge potential. It really could be a top-class accommodation venue if there was much greater attention to detail all round.

While on first glance everything seemed fine, it wasn't long before the 'cracks' started showing. Firstly, it looked like someone had been lying on the bed in the front bedroom (see first photo - that is as we found it) In that same room, slats on the plantation shutters were broken (the dining room plantation shutters were also broken), and the sliding window was broken. In the second upstairs bedroom, the bed cover was stained and pilled...not a good look. The carpet did not look like it had been vacuumed properly, particularly in the large walk-in robe (where there were only 2 coat hangers) Both upstairs bathrooms were not particularly clean, notably the shower recesses, and the shower caddies and soap holder had soap scum on them. In the kitchen, the glass shelf in the fridge was dirty, shelves in the pantry hadn't been wiped out, the dishwashing brush was disgusting, the coffee and sugar canisters and their contents were dirty, and benches weren't cleaned properly. While the kitchen is a lovely, well laid out, large room and reasonably stocked with crockery, utensils and cutlery, don't expect much else. If you are going to be cooking, make sure to bring absolutely everything you will need. Oh, and the dishwasher would only work if we jammed a folded paper shopping bag in the door, to keep it closed properly. All ceiling fans were covered in dust. If you're planning on having a fire in the fireplace, the broken seal on the door will have to be fixed first. Luckily there was some electric heating...a pity the vents weren't clean. I didn't check downstairs, as other people in our group were staying there. But every person in our group of 5 complained about the same thing - the pillows were terrible! So thin/flimsy that you'd need 2 or 3 of them for a decent night's sleep!

The sunroom was amazing to sit and chat with family & friends.

No BBQ , but it was fine as brought our own.
