I did have a car accident driving to Ban Chabiang. The host was so caring and helpful dealing with the aftermath. He spend hours making sure I could continue with my onward travel. He eventually even drove me to the next stop on my itinerary. I am really grateful for all he and his daughter have done for me. They even sent a laptop I had left behind to my next hotel via Express. Absolutely amazing! The accommodation was simple, comfortable and clean. It is some 20 km away from Phanom Rung and Prasat Muang Tam for anyone interested in exquisit Khmer temples. I can wholeheartedly recommend the place to anyone not expecting luxury.

The private bathroom was quite small but had a shower with a well regulated water heater. One has to step outside the room and cross the cabin's veranda to reach it. This is not a complaint, rather an attempt to manage expectations of other travelers. I was totally fine with it.
