Enjoyable and relaxing

Excellent and quiet location 5-10 minutes walk from town centre, railway/bus station, and 4 supermarkets (Foetex, Netto, Lidl, Kvickly). We stayed on the ground floor in the larger lounge/open kitchen area with stove, oven, washing machine and drying tumbler, but had to share the bathroom/toilet with occupants from two smaller rooms upstairs. The house is apparently from 1850 (does not look that old) and within the past six months or so renovated with, amongst other things, wood panelled underfloor heating for the colder months. The host was very accommodating, when we did not know how to get the tumbler working and asked for a drying rack and an iron/steamer. Additionally, we asked for a sign to be put up that the front door must be locked at all times as some of the upstairs tenants left it unlocked all night, apparently due to unfamiliarity with the door lock (always pull the handle up before turning the key to lock). Overall an enjoyable and relaxing stay with free wifi that we depend upon for family and friend contact.

Asians love to cook and spice up their food, so we bought a morter and pestel as none was in the kitchen. Many knives, forks and spoons, but only two teaspoons. Better with an even number of all. A mixture of newer and older plates, bowls and glasses, etc. of which some have cracks. Fixed sets of each gives a better impression than a mixture of different and old ones. Beware that there is no easy accessibility to taxis or Uber (have to come from Esbjerg 30 kilometres away), so prepare in advance and wake up early, if you have a lot of luggage going the approximately 400 metres to the station - takes 10 minutes without luggage and longer if you carry much luggage.

Value for money

Vi havde et rigtig fint ophold i Ribe. Værelset var et hyggeligt tagværelse i god, gammel byggestil, som føltes meget autentisk og passede perfekt ind i byen. Der var en sovesofa, som kunne slås ud til en halvandenmandsseng, og der fulgte en topmadras med, som gjorde sengen både større og mere komfortabel. Der var lagen og el-kedel på værelset, og et vindue med udsigt til den hyggelige, gamle gade. Man henter selv nøglen, hvilket fungerede nemt og problemfrit. Gaden er rolig, og der er mulighed for parkering på gaden eller i nærområdet, afhængigt af trafik. Ejeren var utrolig sød og hjælpsom. Vi havde noget kød med, men da der ikke er køkken tilknyttet alle værelser, kunne vi ikke selv tilberede det. Hun fandt dog en løsning, hvor vi kunne opbevare det hos en nabo, hvilket var langt ud over, hvad man kan forvente. Naboen var også meget venlig. Vi ændrede vores booking fra to nætter til én nat på grund af andre aftaler, og dette blev mødt med forståelse og imødekommenhed. Kommunikationen var rigtig god hele vejen igennem. Jeg hjalp også ejeren med at skabe et bedre overblik over værelserne ved at samle billeder til hendes bookingside, hvilket bare understregede den gode og personlige dialog. Alt i alt var prisen rigtig god for det, man fik, især sammenlignet med andre overnatningssteder i området. Absolut god værdi for pengene, og et sted jeg varmt kan anbefale.

Der er i alt tre værelser i opgangen som hver især havde en lejer. Vi havde nr 2, og fælles toilet og bad. Badefaciliteterne var meget pæne og rene. Der er hængelås på døren til værelset. Der er trapper op til de øverste værelser, så hvis man har gangbesvær eller handicap, er det værd at være opmærksom på.

Sauber und gut ausgestattet. Uriges Gebäude mit historischem Charme. Vermieterin sehr bemüht sich um alles zu kümmern. Komme gerne wieder.

Emplacement

Très peu d’espace ( salle de bain, lavabo minuscule, etc). C’est une chambre placard. Peu de lumière. Escalier ressemblant plutôt à une échelle de meunier ( étroit et raide): difficile de monter avec une valise, dangereux pour aller aux wc la nuit.
