A detached, old Shanghai villa on Huaihai Middle Road

It was a short gals trip but it was the perfect house for us to gather at night to have supper and drinks. The location is perfect. Shopping and Great cocktails bars all within walking distance. The place is clean and we can really feel being part of the city living with the local.There is all what you need in the house even a dish washer! Even when the house is old but the host have refubished without losing it's charm. I would also like to. thank the host who was really super helpful. Our flight was delayed due to the tyhoon and she has so gracefully allow us to check out late and leave. The neighbours were all so helpful too.

We had a fantastic two-week stay at this lovely three-storey terraced house in Shanghai. The location couldn't have been better – it's right in the heart of the city, with shopping centres, restaurants, cafés, ice cream shops, bubble tea places and hairdressers all just a short walk away. The nearest metro station is only about 100 metres from the house and serves three main lines, making it incredibly easy to get anywhere in Shanghai. The house itself is spotlessly clean, beautifully refurbished and very tastefully decorated. It feels modern whilst still retaining plenty of character. There are three comfortable double bedrooms, along with two sofa beds, so there's more than enough space for up to eight people. The beds deserve a special mention as they were exceptionally comfortable – we all slept really well throughout our stay. The kitchen is fitted with all the main appliances you could need, including a fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and gas hob. The only slight downside was that it was missing a few everyday bits and pieces, such as oven gloves, which made cooking a little awkward. It's only a minor point, though, and something that's easily sorted. There are two shower rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second, as well as a separate downstairs loo. They were all very clean and well looked after, although they are a little compact. All in all, we had a brilliant stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property. It's clean, comfortable, stylish and in an excellent location – everything you could want for a stay in Shanghai. We'd certainly stay here again.

The location in the French concession was excellent. We were right in the middle of both the high-end shopping and the neighborhood local vibe with lots of boutiques and interesting restaurants. The property itself is convenient and the responsiveness from the owner team was prompt and accommodating. They provided a nice espresso machine. Having three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms was great. The upstairs balcony had seating for four and looked out over a large garden and Shaanxi S Road, but the double pain Windows and blackout curtains, made the rooms quiet. After weeks of traveling, the washer/dryer was great.

The property is a three-story traditional home. The stairs are steep so I would say that if there were small children involved or elderly people, the property might present some challenges.
