And that’s truth in advertising. It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here.

A warm hearth, a quiet patio fire pit, and easy access to the streetcar set the tone here - this Mid-City home is built for settling in after a day out in New Orleans, whether that day was spent at a parade, a game, or a client meeting across town. With cooler air moving through the city this time of year, the electric fireplace and the fire pit out back are especially easy to lean on, and the central heating keeps every room comfortable regardless of what's happening outside.
Sleeping arrangements
Three bedrooms sleep up to six guests across three beds, each room set up for a genuinely restful night. Room-darkening blinds keep things dim for late sleepers, and you'll find extra pillows and blankets on hand along with ample clothes storage and hangers for anyone settling in for a longer stay. Two full bathrooms mean no waiting around in the morning.
Kitchen & dining
The kitchen is ready for real cooking, not just reheating - a Whirlpool stainless steel gas cooker and oven, a Whirlpool refrigerator, a dishwasher, and all the cooking basics (pots, pans, oil, salt and pepper) are here, along with a full set of crockery and cutlery. Start the morning with the Keurig coffee maker, and when it's time to gather, the dining table and a set of wine glasses make hosting a meal simple. A baking sheet and freezer round out the setup.
Living space
The living room centers on the electric fireplace, with a 50-inch HDTV running Netflix and Roku for anyone who'd rather stay in. Board games are on hand for a slower evening, and a dedicated workspace in its own room with a door gives you somewhere to focus if you need to log on. Central air conditioning and ceiling fans mean the space stays comfortable whatever the season brings.
Outdoor living
Out back, a private patio with a fire pit is the spot for winding down once the sun goes down - well-suited to the current cooler evenings in New Orleans. The home is single-level with no stairs and has its own private entrance, so coming and going is straightforward. Parking is covered too, with a driveway that fits three vehicles, plus free street parking and a paid multistorey garage nearby for extra options.

A washer and dryer are available in-unit at no extra cost. You'll also find shampoo, Zoologics conditioner, body soap, hairdryer, cleaning products, towels, bed linen, and a first aid kit stocked and ready, along with an iron for anything that needs pressing.

You're about four blocks from the streetcar and roughly a 15-minute walk to the Caesars Superdome, putting festivals, parades, and game days within easy reach. Trader Joe's, University Medical Center, and the Lafitte Greenway are all close by, and the neighborhood is easy to explore on foot.
