Welcome to Haven in the Highlands, a spacious three-bedroom retreat on our 1.5 acre homestead in rural Ravenna, Ohio. With gardens, a greenhouse, chickens, and an outdoor hot tub, the Haven is a welcoming place to slow down and spend time together.
COFFEE & TEA BAR Start your day your way with a full pot of coffee or a single cup from the Keurig. Our coffee and tea bar includes a selection of teas, flavored syrups, mugs, and to-go cups, with cream waiting in the fridge. Enjoy your favorite cup inside or take it out to the patio for a relaxing start to the day. Enjoy morning coffee on the large patio, prepare a meal in the fully equipped kitchen, and settle in for a relaxing evening. We love sharing fresh eggs from our hens when available!
The property offers plenty of space to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Watch the seasons change in the gardens, listen to the sounds of the countryside, or gather around the table for a shared meal. Whether you’re staying for a weekend or settling in for a longer visit, the Haven is designed to feel comfortable, spacious, and homey.
BEDROOMS & LIVING SPACE The three bedrooms offer a king, queen, and full bed. The spacious, open living and dining area provides room to gather, share meals, and unwind. All guest bedrooms and living spaces are on one level, with heating and air conditioning for comfort throughout the seasons.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a convection oven and plenty of space to prepare meals during a weekend getaway or a longer stay. You’ll find the essentials for cooking and dining, making it easy to enjoy a quiet breakfast, prepare a family dinner, or pack snacks for a day of exploring the area.
BATHROOM & IMPORTANT LAYOUT DETAILS The Haven has one very large bathroom with two sinks, a seated vanity area, and a spacious, open tiled shower with a rainfall showerhead and built-in bench. A towel warmer holds four large bath towels, and a small heater is available for extra warmth. The shower has a raised threshold.
Please note: the bathroom is accessed only through the primary bedroom. Guests staying in the other two bedrooms must walk through the primary bedroom to use it. Please consider this arrangement when planning your stay.
LAUNDRY & EXTRAS A large walk-in closet includes a washer and dryer and a chest freezer. Eight extra folding chairs are also available. The laundry area provides added convenience for longer stays, families, and guests traveling with children. The extra chairs make it easy to accommodate additional visitors around the dining table or create more seating for gatherings.
TRAVELING WITH LITTLE ONES A playpen, umbrella stroller, and Graco booster seat are available for families traveling with young children.
OUTDOOR SPACE Enjoy the large patio, backyard, and spacious side yard, or unwind in the outdoor hot tub. Our gardens, greenhouse, and chickens bring a little homestead charm to your stay, with the scenery changing throughout the seasons. The outdoor areas offer room to stretch out, enjoy a meal outside, or simply take in the quiet setting. Depending on the time of year, you may see the gardens growing, hear the chickens nearby, or find a peaceful spot to read and relax. The hot tub is a favorite place to unwind after a day of travel or exploring.
PETS ARE WELCOME We know pets are part of the family! Please let us know the number and type of pets you’ll be bringing so we can prepare for your stay. Pet bowls and a pet bed are available. We also have animals on the property, so please drive carefully when entering and leaving.
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS & THE PROPERTY The Haven occupies the lower level of an up-and-down duplex and has its own separate entrance. We’re Kimberly and David, your hosts, and we live upstairs. We’re a quiet couple, though occasional sounds from upstairs may be heard.
We’re both registered nurses and enjoy making guests feel welcome. We’re happy to answer questions and offer a brief walk-through to help you settle in. We’re available if you need anything during your stay while also respecting your privacy and time together.

The hosts were very nice and the place was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances are all new. The bathroom has a large shower and two sinks and the washer and dryer are large and new. There is a spacious living room with plenty of seating. The host provided us with about 10 fresh eggs - straight from the hosts' chickens. That was a special treat.The property is conveniently located, not far from the Ravenna commercial area (grocery, gas, etc). It was nice and quiet, too.There were only two drawbacks. The bathroom is off of the master bedroom, not directly accessible from the rest of the house -- so you have to schedule bathroom time around the sleep schedule of the occupants of the master bedroom. Not a big problem for us.The other is that only two of the rooms have actual doors (the master bedroom and one of the other bedrooms). The other bedroom, the bathroom, and the toilet room (inside the bathroom) have curtains in the doorways. Perhaps the hosts will add additional doors in the near future.Overall, we enjoyed the property - it was quiet, convenient, clean, and new.

The hosts were incredibly nice, welcoming, and communicative, checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. They were also highly flexible with our check-in and check-out times, which we deeply appreciated. The only minor drawback is the bathroom layout; it is attached to the master bedroom rather than a common area, which requires walking through the bedroom to access it. Overall, a great stay with wonderful hospitality.
