About this house rental

Escape to this sweet 1-bedroom duplex in Austin where location is key. This duplex is rented by the month or longer only. It has a queen bed and large built-in custom closets on one entire wall of the bedroom. Blinds and blackout curtains help assure a good night's rest. Look out on the small private back yard from the bedroom. Enjoy the atmosphere of this charming quiet property, complete with AC and heating. There is a washer and dryer in the kitchen. The home was recently updated with a new kitchen, renovated bathroom, new plumbing, new roof, a privacy fence in the back, new water heaters and new central air. It's been recently painted and the original wood floors have been refinished. The kitchen is open to a small dining area. There's a closet in the hallway that can be used for storage or for working at a small desk area if you need to take more private calls or zoom meetings. The living room has a leather couch and extra seating as well as a large smart TV. Rose bushes are usually blooming in the front yard. In front of the duplex there is ample space for street parking on our side of the street with shady spots available across the street. Our street is never crowded. Off street parking can be arranged in the back of the property if preferred. Our neighborhood is popular for walking. A large park full of big shade trees and a creek with charming little bridges is a few blocks away. As you walk through the shade you'll hear birdsong and observe others walking their dogs, playing soccer or just enjoying the outdoors. The park has public tennis courts and a free swimming pool suitable for swimming laps. There is a dog park less than a mile away. From our property we often walk about 8 minutes over to lively South Congress street for the people watching, restaurants, shops and cafes. Or head north about a ten minute walk to the access for the boardwalk on Town Lake and a spectacular view of downtown across the lake. It's a great place to ride bikes or run. You will see some people rent SUP's or kayaks and head out to spend some time on the water. About ten minutes further and you'll be under Congress Bridge where people gather to watch the bats emerge at sunset from about May until November. On the other side of Congress bridge you'll find yourself downtown with multiple venues for fun. Scooters can usually be found for the trip back if desired. Zilker Park (ACL) and Barton Springs are a 10 minute drive from the property. It can take as little as nine minutes to drive to the airport from the property depending on time of day and traffic. A big new HEB grocery store is less than a mile away or drive a little further to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. If you like to thrift there is a Goodwill by the HEB. The other side of the duplex is not used as a rental. The owners use that side when staying in town. You really won't see us much as we have a private yard on our side. But we will be available to answer questions as needed.

We loved our stay at this charming one-bedroom duplex in Travis Heights! The location couldn’t be better—tucked away on a quiet street yet just an easy walk to lively South Congress, the Town Lake boardwalk, and local parks. The home itself is thoughtfully updated and very comfortable. The bedroom has a queen bed with blackout curtains and tons of closet space, plus a peaceful view of the private backyard. The kitchen is fully equipped (with washer/dryer included), and the open dining and living areas made it feel spacious. We especially appreciated the refinished wood floors, new bathroom, strong WiFi, and large smart TV for relaxing evenings in. An office made from a converted closet was perfect for work from home as well.Parking was easy—there’s plenty of street parking and the option for off-street in the back. The neighborhood felt safe, quiet, and very walkable. The host was welcoming, responsive, and respectful of privacy, which made the whole experience seamless.Overall, this spot is perfect for anyone looking for a monthly or longer-term stay. A cozy home in a prime location—we’d absolutely stay here again!
