I have visited Portugal several times, and my stay at Pescadores Guesthouse in Costa da Caparica reminded me why I keep coming back. I was in town attending a festival and booked a room in this shared-space apartment. From the moment I arrived, Jose and his wife made me feel welcome. As a solo traveler, that means a lot. Sometimes when you’re traveling alone, you just want to feel at home, and they did exactly that. Jose clearly loves Portugal and is proud of its traditions and culture. One evening, he made us a traditional Portuguese cocktail and shared stories about the area. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—it felt like staying with friends. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and relaxed. Jose and his wife were kind, helpful, and genuinely cared that their guests had a good experience. I left feeling refreshed and grateful for their hospitality. I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Portugal.

I felt very welcome from the first minute on, thanks to the great hosts! The room is in the perfect location of Costa da Caparica, just around the corner to the beach and very close to shops and bus stations. See you next time :)

Locatie was top, netheid en de benodigdheden. Miguel is super vriendelijk, hij spreekt Portugeels, Spaans en Engels. Is heel gedreven. Koppel heeft goede bedoelingen en mooi hart.

Te dicht op elkaar. Ik verbleef er 9 nachten en in het tijdens de eerste dagen merkte ik bij de vrouwelijk host al irritatie op. Enkel de man nam de communicatie aan. Ik probeerde echt mijn best de doen op portugees/portuñol met haar te spreken. Eenmaal liep ze zelfs weg en zei ze tegen haar man dat ze het niet verstaat (voelde niet veilig). Toch wat meer flexibilteit nodig vind ik. Ik merkte wel een dominatie op in het huis, waardoor ik niet altijd om me gemak was of mij 'thuis mocht voelen', ik hield me koest. Misschien is goed om maximum 5 nachten ten aanvaarden. Wens jullie sowieso al het beste toe met jullie plannen.
