Maria (and Merciano) were absolutely fabulous. They went the extra mile and helped arrange transport from Cebu to Maya. The apartment was extremely clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable and set-up was perfect for our stay. Fridge was really nice, clean drinking water provided, and the towel stand so valuable for all our wet clothes. I would definitely come back to this little gem in the middle of the local community. A lot of restaurants within walking distance and supermarkets all around.
This is not due to the fault of the hosts... But just be prepared for a lot of Island noise in the night (chickens, cats, dogs, scooters...) Maybe bring some earplugs? And just be warned there is no hot water (a common thing on the island), but this didn't bother us too much as the cool shower was quite nice in the humid temperature. Take this in your stride as part of the island vibe and you will have a great time.
