Appartamento Cristalli di Sale

Towards the end of our road trip through western Sicily, we spent two nights in this apartment, and everything was perfect. Our host is a wonderful person, incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to all our requests — even some rather unusual ones on our part! The apartment is small, but very cleverly laid out and so beautifully decorated in a seaside style that you never forget for a moment that you’re just steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. The bed was very comfortable, and even the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable. There were three of us, but I would say the apartment is absolutely perfect for two people. And the real highlight of the apartment is the terrace, with its fully equipped kitchen and breathtaking view. Breakfast, lunch and dinner — every single meal was a joy on that terrace.It’s true that this isn’t the only rooftop terrace — there are two neighbouring terraces, separated only by a wall about one metre high, so you can’t exactly expect complete privacy. But I actually think that’s part of the charm of the place: chatting with your neighbours and perhaps even sharing some food or a drink feels very much in the spirit of a Sicilian holiday.

The only thing I didn’t particularly like was that the reasonably priced car park (€6 per day) is a little far from the apartment. There is another car park just 30 metres away, but at €2 per hour it is considerably more expensive. However, you can stop the car in front of the apartment for a few minutes to load and unload your luggage at check-in and check-out. Another thing I didn’t enjoy — and this has absolutely nothing to do with the apartment itself — was the rather mass-tourism feel of San Vito Lo Capo. It takes away some of the charm of what is otherwise a beautiful place. Even the public beach is packed with rental umbrellas and sun loungers, which makes it feel much more commercial than I would have liked.

Eccezionale! Posizione ottimale sia per la spiaggia che per le passeggiate in centro e il porto. Maria Grazia è una padrona di casa fantastica sempre pronta a supportarti per qualsiasi esigenza. L'immobile è stato ristrutturato di recente e dispone di una veranda panoramica meravigliosa sulla quale si puoʻ cenare, prendere il sole e vedere tramonti stupendi, consigliatissimo!
