Very close to big bend
No chair or bench in room so things were on floor.

The host was great about emailing a lot of information before arriving. No running water and porta potty, find it in daylight because at night it’s pitch black. It’s in a beautiful spot, the room was clean (no bugs which was my main concern all the way out there), about a 25 min drive from Terlingua and another 20 to big bend.
No airflow in there, small window with no screen so we didn’t want to open it due to bugs. But they said they are going to fix this! Also, there needs to be a curtain on the window for privacy. Hand sanitizer in the porta potty would be nice.

This place is remote. When I stayed there were two domes, and the closest other accommodation was a camper about a 100 yards away. And then nothing for a long way after that. I did see markings for a few additional domes so there may be more soon. I loved how DARK it was. I saw a billion stars and got some great pics of the Milky Way just outside the door of the dome! Inside the dome is QUIET. And the perfect temperature. It felt cool inside when arrived even though it was hot outside (high 80s) and stayed the same temperature thru the night. The dome was spotlessly clean. I would have thought it would be hard to have no sand inside but it was spotlessly clean. The ports potty was typical except it had air freshener and smelled ok. Not sure that will be the case come summer? My stay was in November and was unseasonably warm. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the sound machine and speaker to play downloads on my phone were nice touches. The sound machine would be useful for blocking sounds within the dome. Bc it was quiet inside otherwise. I had a little trouble with the door code when arrived and luckily had enough cell service to call the customer service. They were helpful. I am glad I went in the daytime to see where the dome was and make sure I could get in, since I wouldn’t be moving in until after dark. It might be hard to find after dark if you don’t download offline maps. The signage is small and I didn’t recognize it at first. All in all I would definitely stay again. A cool unique and comfortable experience
It would be nice to have a camp chair or something to bring outside for star viewing. I used the side chair in the dome and it was just fine but a more comfy but still portable chair would be nice. And I didn’t realize there was zero accessible water until after I booked. I could have inferred that from the ports potty situation but I wasn’t thinking that they fully. Luckily I had plenty of water onboard for my trip to BBNP

It was super quiet. Reminded me of Afghanistan, just missing the water pump noise in the background.
The porta potty is not a deal breaker... but is kind of sucked walking to it in the middle of the night.
