Clay Stone Cottage

The cottage was just as the name suggests—very cozy and lovely. The small garden had many different plants, so it felt like a little botanical garden. I really enjoyed watching the weaver birds building their nests in the garden. The host was extremely kind and shared helpful local information, which made my trip much easier. I tried to hike up Table Mountain twice. I didn’t make it the first time, but I reached the top on my second attempt. The host truly cared and checked on me to make sure I returned safely. On my first day, the host even walked with me to the nearby supermarket to show me the way. Before I arrived, I had a little trouble finding the place on Google Maps because it showed only the address, not the name. The host replied to my messages right away and helped me find it easily. Thank you for your warm hospitality and for making my stay so memorable!

The cottage is situated in the back garden of a family house in a quiet neighborhood. It has a WiFi, it's own separate entrance, a bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette with microwave, kettle and set of plates and cutlery. The owners were polite and not intrusive. There was no curfew and I was able to come and go as I pleased.

The one thing I would add to the kitchenette is a small fridge to keep things like milk and ready made food in it. Also, the cottage is in the garden, so occasionally there will be a small insect or two in it. Perhaps a net on the inside of the windows to prevent them from coming in.
