Porto Antigo 2

The accommodation was basic but comfortable and everything I needed for a short stay in Santa Maria. The bottle of water left in the fridge on arrival was welcome. I’ve stayed at Port Antigo 2 before so I already knew the location which is perfectly place in Santa Maria. This room is located looking inwards to the complex which is stunning, it was quiet at night and enjoys the morning sun on the balcony to for morning coffee. I was a solo female traveler and felt safe whilst enjoying the accommodation and in the streets of Santa Maria. The people are lovely and the atmosphere uplifting. If it’s your first time visiting Sal, I highly recommend booking the excursion to snorkel with the turtles and observe the nesting. I was lucky to see baby turtles making their first dash for the sea and a 50yr plus turtle nesting on the same night. I travelled to Sal earlier October. Highly recommended this location and will return to Port Antigo again in the future. I was also given a little extra time before checkout as my flight was delayed home, I was very grateful for as it meant I could use the pool facilities and the shower of the accommodation before heading home.

There were a few maintenance issues with the apartment on arrival that were sorted quickly. These only impacted on my experience because of the short duration of my trip.

location is great

Hot water issue in the shower

Very relaxed and chilled vibe here. Feels very safe with security staff around the clock. The whole place is kept pristine. It’s in a FANTASTIC location in terms on distance from the beach as well as very short walk to the main stretch of shops and restaurants. The hostess, Lenise, was also amazing -

The rooms are a little tired but all pristinely clean with great air con, WiFi and showering facilities.

Good location

Noise at night, expensive for the condition of the flat.
