Yellowstone Cabin Nestled in Island Park, Old Yeller is a newly renovated cabin situated within the heart of Island Park, 20 min from the entrance to West Yellowstone, and just under a mile from the Henry’s Fork crossing at Mack’s Inn. This charming yellow cabin offers easy accessibility to the park, Yet far enough away you can enjoy solitude from the crowds at the end of a long day. Surrounded by towering pine trees and Idaho wilderness, where nostalgia and tranquility take center stage.
The Space
• 3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms – Comfortably sleeps 8 + guests.
• Upstairs Master Suite – King bed with en-suite bathroom.
• Basement Room – Pass-Through Sleeping Quarters with 2 Twin beds that can lock together to make a king.
• Spacious Third Bedroom – Features a king bed and trundle with two twins.
• Spacious deck featuring a cozy hammock for ultimate relaxation.
• WiFi Available – Use it or unplug completely—your secret’s safe with me.
• 2- 32” TVs with a nostalgic DVD collection for movie nights. Plus, an HDMI cord is ready for easy device connection whenever you want to stream your own favorites.
Bathroom & Laundry
With two full bathrooms, Old Yeller ensures a comfortable stay. One features a shower/tub combo, perfect for a relaxing soak, The second has a walk-in shower for quick refreshment after a day of exploring. A full-size washer and dryer are available, with laundry soap provided—making it easy to freshen up during your stay.
Outdoor Living Space
Step outside and enjoy the expansive outdoor living areas. The large front deck is perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing, while the beautiful firepit area invites cozy gatherings and late-night storytelling. Whether you’re looking to entertain, unwind, or find a quiet corner to reflect, there’s a space for every mood.
Nestled on a third of an acre of heavily wooded land, Old Yeller offers plenty of room to roam. The entire property is open for guests to enjoy, and the back of the cabin borders a national forest, offering endless opportunities for peaceful walks, wildlife spotting, and adventure.
Old Yeller has plenty of stairs, including on the deck and inside the home. They’re a bit steep, so just keep that in mind as you move around.
This is a classic, older-style cabin, which means it has a few quirks that add to its charm. The property runs on a private well, so you might notice some discoloration in the water from natural minerals—but rest assured, it's completely safe to drink. For extra convenience, there’s a reverse osmosis filter in the kitchen for fresh, filtered water.

This cabin was so cozy and the hosts thought of everything! There were all the extras in the kitchen and bathrooms that most hosts don't think of (mini toothpaste!? Spices and olive oil!!!). I am picky about updates and cleanliness and have nothing to criticize. Even saw a yoga mat in one closet. Everything inside felt updated and didn't feel used! I wouldn't say amazing mountain views but when it was snowing/sleeting outside, the woodsy feel from the living room was wonderful. I traveled with my 15, 18 and 24 year olds and there was plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out and one slept on the couch willingly (unnecessarily) because it was so cushy and comfy. Our host was very responsive when one of us left the kitchen sink slightly dripping which made the reverse osmosis system in the kitchen beep. (Sorry!!) The little market up the road has all you'll need for groceries unless you need specialty gluten free food, which we did and picked up near the airport in Belgrade/Bozeman. Highly recommend!!!

This is an outstanding home! My family commented several times on how well-stocked it was. I think it's their new reference standard for rentals. The home is clean, and comfortable, and we loved the location. It's less than 30 minutes from the west Yellowstone entrance, so it was perfect for our trip. The wooded property is beautiful, and we loved the huge deck with the hammock. My adult kids and husband also enjoyed the Ms. Pac-Man game. Melissa is a very gracious and accommodating host. We highly recommend this rental!

This property has all the amenities you need to be relaxed and comfortable. Wonderful, private location, convenient to W. Yellowstone and the community of Island Park. Great local restaurants, Yellowstone Playhouse is a fun family night out and the property is great for staying home and grilling dinner on the large porch with plenty of seating. Owner is very responsive and great to work with.
