About this house rental
Located mid-way between the 2 towns of Almogia & Villanueva de la Concepcion. The historic town of Antequera is 26Km away with Torcal National Park on route. The perfect rural getaway 5 minutes' drive from the small hamlet of Pastelero with its 2 excellent bar restaurants serving a wide range of delicious Spanish dishes and a small bakery. Positioned with access for day trips to Andalusia’s historic cities, this is the perfect location for lounging by the pool, walking, cycling or day tripping. This beautiful finca has been renovated and stylishly furnished to provide a luxurious and comfortable home away from home. Comfortable beds, Wi-Fi plus International TV Channels available. The emphasis is on peace and tranquility, set in idyllic rural surroundings where the only sounds are those of goat bells. complete with ample terraces surrounding the fincas private pool where you will enjoy BBQ´s and alfresco dining. Lots of beautiful countryside walks straight from the door.
The Finca is situated within 8 acres of farmland and Orchards. The property is at the end of a concreted track so no passing cars will disturb you and you are free to roam. Guests have a large terrace with teak sunbeds and parasols to one end of the pool and there is a covered terrace for dining. There is a Gas BBQ area and separate table & chairs for aperitifs or just reading a good book. Pool and terrace areas are private for this property and not overlooked.

A) There are 2 very good restaurant / bars within a 5 min drive (2.2kms) or 30 min walk of the villa, the food is exceptional and we confidently predict you will go more than once.

This property ticked all the boxes for us. It is in deep rural Spain, far away from the densely packed beaches and throbbing music of the coastal towns, but still close enough to shops, restaurants, culture when you need it. Mike and Michelle have transformed a traditional Spanish farmhouse into a place where you can relax privately in a very agreeable way. The décor is simple but interspersed with interesting art and furniture. Two comfortable double bedrooms each with aircon and ensuite shower rooms, a good sized and well equipped lounge/kitchen/diner were all very nice, but we spent most of our time around the lovely pool! From the poolside you can look into the valley and spend hours just watching the changing light and shadows, the progress of the goat herds or the huge birds of prey (short-toed eagles Mike?). All the rural noises are distant and never intrude, in fact the tinkling of the goat bells is really soporific so find your sunny or shady spot and doze or read a good book until the next bbq or a trip to Paco's restaurant in Pastelero! Of course you could make your own noise and be active, but if you want to chill then this is a small slice of heaven. Mike and Michelle have thought of pretty much everything to make your stay enjoyable, and they are wonderful hosts - never intruding but always ready to advise on trips, places to shop, eat or solving all your problems. Thankyou for making our stay so enjoyable. We'll be back for a longer stay!

We stayed at Finca Las Campanas for a week and wish it had been longer. It is a lovely place, tastefully decorated with lots of little touches to help you feel at home immediately. Mike and Michelle are fantastic hosts - they are hugely knowledgeable about the area, and so helpful and friendly. The views from the finca are stunning and we loved watching the swallows dipping and diving, and the eagles soaring over the valley. The distant tinkle of goat bells was a soothing background sound as we sat around the pool reading – in fact, there were no other sounds to disturb us!
By contrast to the peace and relaxation, we found there were also plenty of things to do if you could drag yourself away from the bliss of the finca. El Torcal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is well worth a visit, along with The Dolmens in Antiquera – in fact, Antiquera itself, about 40 minutes drive from Las Campanas, is a lovely town with lots of history to be explored. Malaga is a great city (1 hour drive) with a beautiful harbour and beach. However, just 5 minutes drive and you are in the little hamlet of Pastelero where there’s a fantastic local restaurant (Venta Pastelero) which is busy and vibrant – and serves excellent gambas, calamari and meat from the barbeque at incredibly good prices. There is so much more to do in this part of Spain, but with only one week and the lure of total relaxation at the finca, we did less than we expected – which was fine as we came back totally relaxed. Thank you Mike and Michelle (and Kink & George - the cats!). We loved it!

We had a very pleasant week!
The view in all it's variations; sunset, dusk, evening, and at night the stars. The smell of the trees, the sound of crickets and goats. The home made dinners on the terrace. The refreshing pool.
We've made some good memories.
Oh and that restaurant in Pastelero....the prawns, the meat.....the atmosphere....absolutely a great tip from Mike and Michele.
Mike and Michele have made it very easy for guests: everything one needs to know or might want to know, is written down and up to date.
