About this house rental
The apartment is located in the Mulinazzo area, within the small town of Cinisi.
If you’re looking to get away from it all, with a sea breeze, a beach within walking distance with crystal-clear water, and great, affordable restaurants and bars—this might be the place for you.
The location is a 10-minute drive from Palermo’s Falcone e Borsellino (Punta Raisi) Airport. It is near the secondary runway, so there may be some airplane noise, depending on the day. If you don’t mind seeing the occasional plane taxiing, you’ll be rewarded with unobstructed views of the Mediterranean Sea, neighboring beach towns, mountains, and a phenomenal west-facing sunset from the terrace.
The location is also ideal if you’re looking to explore the beautiful and authentic areas of Segesta, Erice, Trapani, Scopello, Palermo, and Cefalù, to name a few.
The apartment is just over a kilometer outside of town, which has great supermarkets as well as several independent delicatessens, bakeries, and butchers. There’s space to park on the quiet street outside the apartment, as well as inside the lockable gates.
The living room, featuring a 5-meter-wide window, measures 7 meters by 7 meters, creating a real sense of space. There are two double bedrooms and two modern bathrooms (one en suite); the kitchen is large and equipped with all household appliances, including a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, glassware, etc. There’s air conditioning in the living room and in one of the two bedrooms, but we prefer to keep the doors open and enjoy the sea breeze.
If you’re staying in, there’s a large L-shaped sofa, plenty of seating and space (and a huge bean bag for the kids to enjoy), and a flat-screen Smart TV.
Outside, there’s a large garden, a pergola, and a BBQ dining area.
You’re within walking distance of Magaggiari Beach, and a little further away is the more touristy town of Terrasini (3 km).
This is my second home, where I spend a lot of my time when I’m not working in London as an architect. I’m very happy to share my space with my guests, but please be considerate and respectful of my beautiful home and my neighbors, as this is not a party house.
The house is managed by Mara, a lovely woman from my town who’s ready to help with advice and anything you might need
Lastly, there are bedding, towels, pots, and pans—it’s a home where you can feel comfortable, rather than a hotel room.
