About this house rental
No linen hire. No BYO. No surprise at check-in.
Many Rainbow Beach houses hand you a price, then hand you a linen hire form. Ours doesn't. Every bed is made before you walk in, and bath towels are out and waiting for all eight guests – included in what you paid. The only thing to pack is beach towels (ours kept going home with people, so that one's on you).
Welcome to Drift at Rainbow: a proper low-set beach house run by real people who know how to relax, host, and burn sausages on a BBQ (optional). No laminated rule books. No weird throw pillows.
This isn't just a bigger beach house — it's base camp for the tribe. Lazy mornings, sandy feet, and sunset drinks that somehow turn into midnight yarns.
Sleeps 8 across 4 real bedrooms:
🛏️ King with ensuite · Queen · Double · 2x King Singles — no bunk beds from 1987
🚿 2 bathrooms including the master ensuite
❄️ Ceiling fans throughout
🧺 Washer
The bits that make it work for a crowd:
🍳 Fully stocked kitchen — pots, pans and actual wine glasses
☕️ Automatic coffee machine (coffee included)
🔥 Two BBQs, a second fridge and a fire pit — because eight people means two cooks and a lot of drinks
☀️ Front verandah for sunrise coffee, covered rear entertaining zone for sunset wines
🌿 Huge fully fenced yard — bring the kids, bring the dog, bring your inner child
🏖️ Bath towels supplied — bring your own beach towels
🛜 Free wifi, plus books, games and puzzles for when the weather turns
Getting out and about:
🚶 300m to the beach, shops and pub. If you drive, you're doing it wrong.
🎣 Double carport for the 4WD, boat or jet ski — and you're 10 minutes from the K'gari barge at Inskip Point
🥾 Finishing or starting the Cooloola Great Walk? This is the base you want at either end
Local backup: our co-host Kerri knows where the locals actually get coffee, which beach is working today, and where to eat when you can't face cooking. Ask her anything.
