Kaipara Lodge is perched on the edge of the cliffs at Pouto, offering breathtaking views of Kaipara Harbour.
Secluded and private, it's the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway. Unwind, relax, and immerse yourself in the peaceful serenity of Kaipara. Curl up with a book, enjoy a board game, or lounge on the deck, soaking up the sun and stunning surroundings.
As night falls, recline in the hot tub with a glass of wine, stargaze, or drift off to sleep as the moonlight dances over the harbour. Kaipara Lodge is located between Kauri and Kapia Lodges, making it the central lodge on the property.
With 25 meters of separation, privacy screens, plants, and individual access to each lodge, we ensure privacy and noise segregation are maintained for your comfort. This luxury lodge offers all the comforts of home for an unforgettable getaway. Relax, sip wine, and take in the stunning views.
For those seeking adventure, enjoy a horse ride along the rugged west coast, explore the Pouto sand dunes, hike to New Zealand's oldest wooden lighthouse (a 14km return beach trek), or test your fishing skills in the famous Kaipara Harbour.
Pouto Point is located on the West coast of the Kaipara District. Depending where you come from, generally you will take state highway 12 or 14 to Dargaville, then head south for 50 minutes to Pouto. The final 10km of road to Pouto Point is gravel and in some locations single lane, please drive safely! Self check-in , private and secluded experience. Feel free to explore the property.
The Hosts, Henry & Dene maintain the property and will be nearby to help with any advice or questions you may have. We have three Lodges on-site. Kapia Lodge is at one end, Kaipara Lodge in the middle, with Kauri Lodge on the other end. Pouto Point is Isolated from cities, towns, shops and cafes, you can enjoy the privacy as well as the Kaipara serenity and escape from the everyday busy life.
A car will be required to get to Pouto which is accessible year round and a 4x4 if you want to hit the beach!
We welcome pets at the lodge, so feel free to bring them along to explore this outdoor playground! If your desired dates are unavailable, consider our other two lodges: Kauri Lodge or Kapia Lodge. As an adults-only destination, our lodges are thoughtfully designed with couples in mind, providing the perfect getaway for two.
