About this house rental
Let this gem located in the historic Abbott Tract be your home away from home. Located just 2 blocks from the Downtown area and all it has to offer. This cottage was built in 1885 and retains its old-world charm while featuring modern conveniences. Whether you’re enjoying breezes from Matanzas Bay sitting on the front porch swing, or dining in the resort-like back yard featuring an outdoor bar, built-in eating area, covered porch and lounge chairs, this is an experience not to be missed.
The space
History awaits you as you enter the cottage and take in its original hard-wood floors/trim work, large windows, spacious kitchen and dining area. Enjoy the period artwork, framed pictures of Saint Augustine landmarks and charming period appropriate decor. Enjoy a shower in a fully tiled shower with a seat, a bath in the newly restored clawfoot tub or use the outdoor shower after a day at the beach.
Just because you’ll feel like you’re traveling back over 130 years into the past, doesn’t mean you’ll be giving up any of the modern conveniences you’ve come to expect. The home has high speed Wi-Fi, 2 flat screen high-definition TV’s, central A/C, 6 ceiling fans, an outdoor blue-tooth speaker and keypad entry.

You will have whole-house access, with the exception of the shed.

We really enjoyed our stay!! Loved the location!! Walking distance to everything and then just a short drive to Vilano beach! Big back patio and very clean home! We also enjoyed riding the bikes around the neighborhood! Thanks for the snacks! Would definitely stay again!

Communication with the host was spot on! House was perfect just as shown in listing. Loved the outdoor area! You can tell the host takes pride in the place and care about the guest! We enjoyed our visit to Casa Verde 1885! It is a charming and very well decorated house. It was very clean and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Location is great! Quiet neighborhood with easy walking distance to the Historic District. We appreciated the lovely outdoor patio with shaded and sunny seating areas. Wish we could’ve spent more time out there, but too much to do in St Augustine!TV works well and had lots of viewing options. Steven was very responsive to our requests. We highly recommend Casa Verde 1885!

We had the most amazing stay at Casa Verde 1885!! Walkable to everything, clean, comfortable beds, snacks in a little welcome basket, bikes, a grill, and the perfect backyard for hanging out with all your friends. Will recommend and stay again!!
