Our vacation rental, Zum Freihof, is located in the center of Schwarzenbach, nestled between Dollberg and Peterberg in the scenic region of the southern Hunsrück and the Nahe Highlands within the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. As a result, our town borders the southern foothills of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, which opened in 2015. Centrally located between major regional tourist attractions such as the Peterberg summer toboggan run with its observatory in Braunshausen, the Nonnweiler Dam with its Planetary Hiking Trail, the Otzenhausen Celtic Ring Wall with the Celtic Park at the southern entrance to the national park, and Lake Bostal with Center Parcs. All of the aforementioned destinations are within 8 km and can be reached on foot, by bike, or by car. The mountains and ridges of the municipality of Nonnweiler are among the highest in the Saarland and form part of the 410-km-long Saar-Hunsrück-Steig, which was voted Germany’s most beautiful long-distance hiking trail again in 2017, following previous wins in 2009 and 2012. The Sankt Wendeler Land Railway Bike Trail runs through the three municipalities of Freisen, Nohfelden, and Nonnweiler and is practically right on our doorstep. Many tourist attractions are located near the route and are well worth a visit.
With a length of 30 kilometers and a flat route, nothing stands in the way of a relaxing bike ride with a high level of comfort.



Apartment/Vacation Rental:

Enjoy your stay in your accommodation, which is equipped with Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, and a private bathroom with a shower. When the weather is nice, enjoy your meals on the balcony. The kitchen features a fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, and an electric stove with an oven. There’s also a microwave, a toaster, a coffee maker, and a kettle.
Our kitchen is fully equipped. However, if you ever find that something is missing, please just ask. We can usually help you out right away.
If you don’t feel like cooking, why not visit our restaurant with its cozy beer garden on the premises and enjoy our menu? We offer our guests a 10% discount on our menu.



On-site costs: A 50% advance payment is charged upon booking. The remaining balance is due on-site in cash. Cancellations made up to 30 days before arrival are free of charge. Later cancellations will be charged at 50% of the total price. Check-in is available from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Check-out is between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Other check-in and check-out times are possible upon request. Please contact us in advance to make arrangements. Keys will be handed over in person on-site or via a key box. You will receive the code for this well in advance of your arrival. Pets are not allowed.



Check-in is from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00, and check-out is from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
